Well his whole being there revolves around the huge contract he got from Cerberus. Shepard helping Zaeed with Vido was to get Zaeed prepared for the suicide mission.

No.

But it reminds me of "The Tooper" by Iron Maiden.

Well that settles it.

That was written by Iron Maiden.

Does that make me Iron Maiden?

Would a large assortment of pictures posted at once cheer you up?

I'm fine now.

But the other day, Jones and I were discussing a particular moment in Reckoning, and I actually cried when I thought about it. Not gonna lie. Don't think everyone will feel the same... but... God damn...

Awesome, looking forward to it. Well not the massive ammount of depression and the fact that it will quash my faith in sentient species, but looking forward to the story nontheless.

Hmm... not the right place to ask, but how Reckoning coming along? Can I expect another well crafted chapter, soon perhaps?

On topic- Always wonders why Quarians used polarized or tinted facemasks. I mean I can understand the need for privacy on constricted ships, but why would the suit's be designed to hide their faces when they first fled Rannoch.

Think it came about as time went on? Just seems odd though for a social people to knowingly restrict themselves like the Quarians did, I mean how hard would it be for them to just use clear visors? Thoughts?

Probably looking into this too much.

It's coming along.

Hopefully, up this weekend. If not, next week.

MASSIVE Chapter...

Looking forward to it thanks. Not the fact that it will further ruin my faith in sentient species, but nonetheless, bring it on.

Tali and Garrus returned partly because they were popular, and partly because they were the only two characters who survived Mass Effect and weren't LIs.

There would have been no point in making a new quarian or turian when they already had two established characters of that race.

Journals

Frederick J. Shepard loves to write. What he can't convey, or what he wanted to
express, he would jot it down in his private terminal. It was an old
journal, something he hasbeen carrying since he reached his teenage
years growing up in the colony of Mindoir. Within it, records were
stored revolvinig around the events, emotions, and responses he wasn't
keen on sharing. He wasn't keen on holo-journals nor autmated recording
as he finds them inconvenient, embarassing, and lacking in freedom.
Thus, whenver spare time was given or after every single mission, he
would open his journal and write.

Ever since the events pass the
Omega 4 relay, Tali has been taking up residence within the Captain's
quarter--much to Shepard's request. Since then, she would caught Shepard
sneaking towardshis terminal at night and sit there speechless, smiling
to himself to whatever caught his attention. She tends to ignore this
for the first two weeks.

Curiosity, of course, got the better of her.

"Shepard, what are you doing?" It was one particular night that she decided to ask the
question upon noticing the pattern in his behavior. Startled, Shepard
attempted to quickly shut his journals off but soon finds himself
against the idea--he knows better not to mess with the quarian engineer.
Sighing in defeat, Shepard returns a smile.

"I'm just looking back through old records, Tali. Want to join?" he envite, gesturing with
his hand towards his companion who lies under
the bed covers. A minute later, she is standing beside him, eyes focused on the screen before her.

"What is it?"

"It's my journal; I have a habit of writing things down ever since I was a
colonists back in Mindoir. These were some of the old ones I managed to
salvage from the SR1."

Curiously, she leans closer towards the
screen. With her head now parallel from Shepard's she began to read the
context provided before her. "Isn't this...?"

"Wrex's family armor?" he smile, turning his attention towards her. "It is."

"Wow, I never thought you're the type who would keep such records..."

"I do so once in awhile. I'm not all gung-ho, shoot things up and leave it
to die all the time, you know!" He left a dry chuckle. "Want me to read
an entry?"

"Please."

"Entry number 286, Armstrong Nebula..."

---

Minutes after minutes pass as Shepard began reading every entry he has written
in his journey. They were stories, echoes of a fairy tale that yet
sounds true. Garrus and the 'mad doctor', the Krogan armor, John and
thegiant plant-thing (a title she finds humorous), and of course 'the
gift', a story about her pligrimage and the Geth data he presented to
her. Then there were stories of Saren, memories of Vermire, Ilos, and
the final flight of the Normandy SR1 before the entry cuts off to two
years later.

The recent entries were all but past memories for her, enveloped with deeper emotions and liberty than what was written circling the SR1. Here she listens as he read entries spanning  from
Freedom's Progress and their first reunion, Archangel, the scientist,
prison ship purgatory, an old friend in Tuchanka, stories from Illium,
Sidonis, Haestrom and their reunion; even her trial! But then he stops.

---

The next few pages of the entry is a blank slate, clean from any letters
or words that accompanied the two of them for the past hours. Puzzled,
sheask his permission to search through the contents in hopes of finding
hidden entries carefully concealed using unknown programs. She found
none, much to her dismay, and figures to ask the man responsible
instead.

"Shepard, how come the entries were left empty after the trial?" she ask, dropping a questioning look towards him from behind her visor. "If you have something you wanted to hide from me, I'll find
it eventually."

A chuckle left Shepard's lips. "You can try looking for it as much as you want, but you will find nothing. Those
aremy story, Tali."

"But why!? Your story doesn't end there, and there are still things left to be written!"

sighing with laughter, Shepard took his arm and pulls her closer by the waist,
startling her but is welcomed nonetheless. Then, he points to his
journal. "Tali, read the date of the last entry."

She does so, producing a grin in his face. "Now, remember what we talked about that day?"

"It was about me being sick, the immune system and...and..." she pause,
herface burns as she remembers the conversation, the emotion, and the
mood that surrounds it. "Oh..."

Shepard smiles softly, tapping her shoulder for her attention. "The entries I've read are stories about me, Tali. The reason I stopped writing is not because I don't want to, but because I couldn't."

He pause, clearing his throat as he builds up confidence before finally giving his answer.

"It's about you; about us." A smile generates around his face, causing the heart of the young quarian
to race faster and faster. "If you want me to continue, I want to write
it together. The blank slate were ours to fill, and we have a lot to catch up."

Wringing her hands together, Tali's eyes shifted left and right, both flustered
and greatful to the attention he gave to her. Taking her hands in his,
he asks one more time. "Will you continue our story with me?"

Asthe heat rises through her face, and the feel of his hand seeps pass
the her gloves, Tali held her breath and plays with his finger before
finally giving her answer.

"Yes, Shepard. I will."

Oh.  That's like a fire at the Library of Alexandria.

Apparently my entry survived the transfer, though.  Hooray!
