The Collector Base decision kind of reminds me of the ME1 end game decision. It's not particularly balanced. Well, I think the ME1 decision was more lopsided. I liked Udina as a character, but Bioware very much made him easily dislikable - which was likely the point. That itself is fine, but it kind of reduces the end game choice to "Awesome guy who's been helping you this entire time," or "Jerkface who almost doomed the entire galaxy."

Shepard: HMM, WHO DO I PICK?

Very few of the major plot decisions are difficult to take side on.

That's true. Heck, I don't even remember any decisions I spent more than 2 minutes deciding. Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean all of the choices are clear cut to everyone.

Handing over a base full of unknown and possibly very powerful alien technology to a terrorist organization which only goal is to dominate all aliens, or destroy it, rub it in their faces and hope you'll find a better solution to your Reaper problem.

Is that supposed to be a hard choice?

It was a little tempting, actually. But I ended up destroying it with little regrets.

I actually did important a playthrough with Udina chosen the first time I played ME1. I can kind of see that they took notice of Anderson's popularity because i hardly get to talk to Udina at all, which makes me sad. Not to mention Udina just kind of...disapproving to Shepard again. Hey dude, I made you councilor...

Funny thing. Udina is the councilor in Retribution and Anderson is stuck with being an admiral and...advisor? Well, until he told Udina to shove it where the sun don't shine, that is.

I wonder if this will actually be the case in ME3. That Anderson is somehow no longer Councilor.

Actually, the "embrace eternity" thing reminded me of a bit of a plot hole, or a "huh?" part of the story. Shepard is trying to convince the council of his or her views, but Shepard never thinks to mind meld with the Asari Councilor as s/he did with Liara for the Prothean/Reaper information.

They'd probably think it was a pipe dream, or something Saren put into his head so he'd believe what he believes. You seen Land of the Dead right? They're just fat cats who want to pretend nothing's gonna happen. You can't change that.

And plot devices. It's as if Bioware had not planned out the entire story yet - given the Council's shift from "yea, we acknowledge the reapers now lol" in ME1 to "JK ROFL" in ME2.

The Udina is the councilor in Retribution looked more like a screw-up by Karpyshyn and he or the editor didn't catch it. Since it is never really mentioned again after that sentence.

Though I don't think it matters considering what Anderson does at the end.

Reminds me of when Casey Hudson referred to Conrad as "Commander Verner."

Wouldn't surprise me. The guy has no interest in politics. At all.

And guess what he's doing for a daily job...

There's also the bit with Kahlee not remembering the Reapers, even though it was explained to her in book 2. Overall, I thought it was the weakest of the books. Felt rushed, without a real plot, or character development.

Isn't Kahlee told about the Reapers or finds information about their existence in every book?

I think she just has horrible memory.

Since I heard from Collider that you like my Mordin playthrough, I'm giving you a little say in the entire thing. So should Mordin leave the Miranda station and hop on the Tali train, or should he wait it out until the final romance scene for the hilarity of it alone?

Go with Miranda for teh lulz.

And considering people already start raging when I post stuff like this:

I don't think it'd be extremely well received.

Aww, but it's cute...in a weird way, yes, but still. I don't think it's rage material. I did a Mordin/Garrus snuggleshot too, and we had a good laugh about it over at the Garrus thread.

But yeah, I think I'll go with Miranda. That romance scene will be epic. :D

Anderson: This must have something to do with the Reapers.

Unfamiliar with the name, Kahlee asked, "Who are the Reapers?"

Anderson explains the Reapers.

Kahlee blinked in surprise. "I've never heard anything remotely like that before in my life."

Rewind to Book 2:

----

Female Quarian: Have you ever heard of a species called the Reapers?

Kahlee shook her head.

Quarians explain the rumors about Reapers.

Well, I really liked the story of the first one better with Saren, but I also like the insight things from Book 2. Can't really pick one.

I didn't really think any of the books were that well-written. But they are pretty alright for books based on a videogame.

Legion had a lot of dialog in ME2. It seems that at one point in development intended him to be recruited much earlier - along with other squad mates.

Ah yes "plot holes" supposedly gaps or mistakes in a story that were either overlooked or forgotten about by the author, we have dismissed those claims.

Of Ascension and Retribution?

I'd say...Ascension.

There's so much manipulative crap going on in Retribution. Who did this, but what if he thought of it like that, have to calculate their next move, etc etc.

And guess what? When Cerberus' projects goes to sh!t for the fifth time, it's not so surprising or much of a twist anymore.
