I always laugh at what looks like sexual tension between manshep and Kaidan or femshep and Ashley on Horizon.

Seems everyone is gay for Shepard.

Do you mean that as in 'how will it change things in 3' or 'what happens with that character later on in 2'?

Both?

lol

Most likely, just like ME1 was, this is all the game/import utility cares about:

1. Did you do the squad mate's personal mission? What was the result?

2. Did you import a save where you are currently romancing the squad mate?

3. Who did you side with in their fight, if they had one?

4. Do you have their loyalty in the save you imported?

That's probably as deep as it goes.

In general, I think too much of the dialogue with LIs is dependent on whether you want to romance them or not. The LIs have plenty of conversations if you're the opposite gender, but otherwise don't have much to say (FemShep is met with engine cleaning excuse, MaleShep gets calibrations, etc). The non-LIs always have a lot of conversations, such as with Mordin and the Legion. It bothers me that if your favorite character happens to be an LI, they won't be saying much unless you tell them you want to have sex.

ME3 should definitely have some other subjects to use in dialogues with squadmates.

The only thing that bothers me about dead-ending the convo is that they only bothered to give Mordin rotating "done talking to you" lines.

It is best that you expect the worst. As long as I can stay convinced that all ME2 squaddies will be cameos in ME3, I will not be disappointed.

I have a question for Collider that might convince me otherwise, though.

Center on romance is more of a problem with some squad mates more than others. Even though Garrus & Tali have lower non-romance conversations, I still get to be friends with them. I also like that they put in a friendship path for Jacob. Shepard is Thane's only friend.

Miranda did not convince me. & you can't be platonic friends with Jack.

As for in 3: I dunno.

As for how they react later: if you don't talk to them at all until their loyalty quest, you get a quick version of what their first few talks are like (for example: Jack says something along the lines of 'You could take this ship and go pirate, but I know you'd never be up for that.') before getting to the loyalty dialog.

If you don't talk to them again until after the Collector Base most squadmates will give you get a quick version of their thank-you for helping them (Miranda doesn't) before giving their opinion on the course you took with the ship.

You're right.
I wonder why they didn't expand that for everyone. Would three or four rotating lines really be that hard to do?

Interesting, I had no idea. Now, am I a man who faces up to his challenges, or am I more like a p*ssy.

I think they really just loved Mordin's voice actor.

But every character seems to have something the other one doesn't have. Tali and Jacob for example, are the only characters to comment on their romances post suicide-mission.

Lines, probably not.  Good animations for the character models, probably yes.

It happened by accident with Jack. Not so much with Jacob or Miranda. . .

As for your question. . . um. . . you're a man?

I'm pretty sure it's the latter.
