So do you guys think Sroka really enjoys portraying Tali in Mass Effect?

Definitely

She wouldn't put so much effort, the accent, the feeling into it if she didn't love playing the part.

Any actor or actress really should enjoy their work. They put themselves into it, as much as any other profession, and fans have a more direct praise for the work they do.

I have to say that she certainly gets into it. She seems to put a lot of effort into the voicework, but I don't know if she's just especially driven as a VA, or actually enjoys voicing the character.

She wouldn't be doing it otherwise.

I think the person who enjoyed acting in the ME series the most would be Brandon Keener.

He discusses Mass Effect stuff on his facebook page and really talks to his fans.

They needed someone with snark, and a sexy accent.

They chose...wisely.

You can always trust Legion to defend Tali's honour.

When he's not threatening to make the quarians answer for their crimes, that is.

I picked the upper-left blue in that particular situation.

If people can hold a possible response against Capt. Kar'Danna, I don't see why the same wouldn't apply to Legion.

Well, if you want to look at it that way; then Legion had not yet been Talindocrinated.

Nah, you don't have to necessarily like what you're doing in performance art, but you do have to like doing the performing itself. I've performed music that I really disliked, but I still did it to the best of my ability because I loved playing.

EDIT: *mutters something derogatory about the flute solo in the Titanic theme*

When I gave her the Phalanx, she shot a mech, and she said:

"Hah! Got one!"

I think she liked it.Posted Image

I've had some experience in theatre and was even one of the most sought after in my class for voice acting. I always had fun doing it, even if it wasn't necesarrily a role I wanted.

Edit: Yeah, I play guitar for teh lulz, not because I actually want to become professional.

Like singing halleluja chorus at every choir concert in high school?

Hate the song, but damn do I have a good voice. So I see what you mean. Liz, however, puts emotion into her voice work for Tali. It flows so natural for her.

Well when you look at the characters. The ones with the voice actors who seem to be having fun with their characters are Tali, Mordin, and Garrus. All the other ones are great, but they just seem to be reading their lines as directed and going on with their jobs.

Exactly. Being first chair flute meant I had to play solos and stuff even if I loathed them <_< But I still put all the effort I could into it.

Agreed. Plenty of times I've been shoveled into performing some piece of music that I practically hated, but the simple enjoyment gained from creating music makes up for it. I imagine VA can work similarly.

I'll say once again, the Tali thread appears to be graced with an abundance of talent.

Where does this put Jacob's VA?

Not sure, his voice acting can only be appreciated as one appreciates Con Air. As unintentionally ****ing hilarious.

When someone gives their character an accent, like Tali, or when they change up the inflections like Mordin, or when they mess with their emphasis like Garrus (Riiiight... 'cause I'm in a great place to optimize firing algorithms right now...), you know they're putting everything into it.

Other examples are Joker, Jack, and Grunt. Their VAs REALLY bring their characters to life and make them unique.

Hell, when I played the flute, I'm not so sure it was talent so much as it was blind, stubborn determination. I practiced at least a couple hours each day.

I forgot about Jacob! (I'm such a bad fan) Yeah, I think think he was having fun doing the voice-work for the romance, but he was having too much fun.
