Ashley also hopes that Tali traveling with Shepard improves the quarians reputation.

Hell, I think Tali is the only alien Ashley really doesn't have a problem with.

Tali = Ashley   4th sister in my book...  people get all up in arms if people are not buddy buddy singing  kumbya after hello.   Friendships do take time to form.

Oh, I forgot. Before Miranda switches souls with some random person, we get to badmouth her on Cerberus Station. I liked that Miranda far better. She was actually interesting.

Again, let's use a real world example. American history.

It's like the Confederacy. Yes, most of the people behind it are actually reasonable people with great ideals. Ideals I support. More power to the states. Less power to the federal government. Free trade. Ect.

But then you have the people who abuse that and use it as an excuse to promote slavery. Terra Firma's rascists.

Then you have the REALLY bad people, the KKK, to which Cerberus is an analogue.

Even the leaders translate. Saracino and General Lee, for example. Both upstanding people who had some good ideas. Unfortunately, their talents and gifts are wasted on people who don't understand them.

Yes. The Confederacy did have some brilliant ideals. Ones I hold very dear to my heart, and I don't say that about many things. But at the end of the day, I can't condone the price I'd have to pay to support them. Same with Terra Firma. Stronger humanity? HELL YES. But not at the price of the people I love being spit on, their people being looked at with mistrust, and the spread of hate and bigotry against them. I'll find a better way.

Who's left to defend humanity in your version of the galaxy?

Shepard can't do it alone, forever.

Omega, Afterlife VIP Area

Shepard: *slurring slightly* You know, Garrus...

*On pure reflex, Shepard dodges a mis-aimed beer bottle gliding past his head, continuing effortlessly*

Shepard:
You've got -like- six fingers. So... before your people got to the Citadel, where the Asari set the mathematical standard the rest of the galaxy stood by...

*Nearby, one of the attendies starts making unwanted advances on one of the dancers. Jack promptly hurls the man across the room and out the door... then starts hitting on the dancer in his place.*

Shepard:
So, I would've figured turians...mainly think in Base Six while I think in Base Ten.
Garrus: *takes a drag from his beer, half listening, mainly concentrating on the dancer not three feet from his face.* Yeah.
Shepard: So, I was kinda thinking...

*Shepard concentrates rather hard, his concentration broken by a loud cheer over in Grunt's general direction, who seems to be outdrinking Jacob, much to Jacob's somewhat intoxicated amusement.*

Shepard:
...oh that was never a good idea. But anyway, I was thinking, when you'd said "a few" dancers, it'd be even less than when I say "a few"... anything.

*Garrus, who'd thus far been keeping close track of the dancer's gyrations, slowly turns to Shepard*

Garrus:
When have I ever done anything small

*Shepard turns away, this question shaking his whole view of the universe.*

Shepard:
Point.

*In silent agreement, the two clink their beers together, and go back to watching the show. After about ten minutes, Shepard pipes up again.*

Shepard:
Wider hips have ruined this for me.

*Garrus starts to say something, but stops, breaking down into laughter*

Born and Raised in Nevada. I'm a union state.

But, like Terra Firma, there are ideals there I can really get behind.

But not at the price I'd have to pay to support that group.

That elevator convo was surprising to me. Something like "I guess traveling all the time people never really get to know you".

I was also curious about Admiral Mikhailovich's outrage over turians and krogan on the Normandy but not a quarian. They're thieves and vagrants, right? And one is on the most advance warship and he doesn't rear his head?

True, mostly it goes on without spoken words, such as choosing Garrus as first team leader, and JACOB as 2nd team haha I'll bet she cried about that one, then after "I can do it tew" regarding the Biotic Barrier, I go with Jack, that mighta brought some tears

That opening scene always hurts. Especially later when you can find his datapad and he talks about Tali.

Humans have a particular beef with Turians, as a cause of the First Contact War. And there are more Krogan running around in the galaxy than there are Quarians. And Krogan are naturally violent.
