Agree.  Ashley went so far as to ask what Shepard though.  It doesn't seem to be that big a part of Tali's character that she'd need to know what Shep thought about it.

Ah, that's right. We did get a rare moment of someone asking Shepard personal questions.

Wish we saw more of that.

Anyway I don't actually think we've discussed everything we can. I hardly think that this particular topic - Tali's religion or lackthereof, has been repeated as much as a lot of other topics.

You know, you're right, it hasn't been repeated as much.
It's been discussed though.

I can easily think of something that we've never discussed in this thread in relation to Tali.

There's a point at which religion and science become the same thing. There's the mechanical operation of the universe - this is science - then there is the significance sentient beings attach to it - this is spirituality and conscious observation - . At the subatomic level, the two begin to appear more conjoined than had previously been anticipated. This only hints at the exciting possibilities of future research and discovery.

Not really the place for this discussion.

Reposting to combat off-topic-ness.....

Obviously, if the thread is constantly going off-topic it means there's nothing more to discuss about the topic.

It's been happening since the beginning of 2.0. You guys just repeat the same things over, and over, and over.

I've been coming here and discussing topics since 1.0, topics often get repeated, but you get new perspectives and new opinions from new people.  Others like to write or read fanfics or see the constant flow of new fanart or screenshots.  Saying that the topic is just repeating is an oversimplification.  Off topicness is not a constant problem, its just a side effect of discussing a limited topic for so long, the conversation always returns to Tali pretty quickly.

Guys...Tali in-game is..Squishy. She's obviously not supposed to be in the front-lines during Ground Wars and her skills all seem to be tech-related. To me she seems like the squishy mage that casts spells at the back of the party, but why does she have a shotgun?

In keeping with Tali's expertise, what kinds of abilities do you think would make her better and more compatible with her close-rangedness?

The Quarian genepool reminds me of Vault 101's genepool in Fallout 3. Every person alive in Vault 101 is IN Vault 101. Just like how every Quarian alive came from the Flotilla. Every Quarian left in the galaxy can be traced back to the migrant fleet.  What Im trying to say is..The humans locked inside Vault 101 are all related to each other in some way...Can the same be said for the Quarians?

The Migrant Fleet is in a little better shape, I think.  The refugees on it (as evidenced by accents) were probably drawn from all over Rannoch (and the colonies?).  So they probably at least started as a diverse bunch, though Ascension suggests that they've blended down to a near-universal average.

I have this theory that quarian geneology is in pretty good shape.  They probably keep track pretty carefully, given the tiny (relatively) gene pool.

That was actually something that Rip and I discussed briefly while working on Reckoning.

The concept of "scribes", individuals who keep track of any and all records on the Flotilla. Birth records, deaths, marriages, transfers.

Quite alot to keep track of.

Not really, since there are a LOT more quarians then vault dwellers and the fact that the people from one ship tend to move to another.

Can't say that about the people in 101.

We must also take into consideration that human genetic variance cannot be applied to quarians.  They seem to be less diverse, even before the Morning War.

She has a shotgun because it's a more appropriate weapon for ship-board combat, such as one might face on the Flotilla.

Tech armor.

That would certainly be welcome.

On-screen character development of Shepard while acknowledging his relationship with Tali.

It was nice that Ash asked Shep about believing in God. But sadly the game didn't care about the answer.

An extremely in depth and complicated dialogue system is my pipe dream for Mass Effect.  Give me hours and hours of dialogue, and I'll play a 2d side scroller :pinched:

I thought it was more because a shotgun would very useful during her pilgrimage instead of something like an assault rifle and or a sniper rifle. If she runs into trouble on the Citadel, a shotgun would be very handy, a sniper rifle probably wouldn't. Also, it's not true that Tali only has tech skills. If you don't hug her on Alarei (inb4 OH MY GOD WHO WOULD DO THAT, YOU MONSTER BURN IN HELL), she reveals that she had gotten the best military training that the Flotilla could offer.

So Tali's role: Cramp spaces full of mechs?
