I have this theory that quarian geneology is in pretty good shape.  They probably keep track pretty carefully, given the tiny (relatively) gene pool.

That was actually something that Rip and I discussed briefly while working on Reckoning.

The concept of "scribes", individuals who keep track of any and all records on the Flotilla. Birth records, deaths, marriages, transfers.

Quite alot to keep track of.

VI's could do a lot of that.  If quarians wanted to leave it up to VI's, of course.

I also have this theory that keeping everyone busy on the Flotilla is a chore in and of itself.

We must also take into consideration that human genetic variance cannot be applied to quarians.  They seem to be less diverse, even before the Morning War.

Where do you get this?

Visual diversity is evident, as we can see that humanity can vary quite a bit.  Mordin also points out, during his recruitment mission, that humanity is inherently more diverse.  Although he doesn't really explain why we became that way.

(That always made me LOL, since humanity isn't real hot on genetic diversity compared to the rest of Earth)

I always thought that the reason several of the ME races weren't very diverse is because they were nearly wiped out:  krogan and quarians.

Salarian mating practices would seem to keep trimming the pool for them, and of course asari just randomize their genes a little.

It's worked well so far.

It was nice that Ash asked Shep about believing in God. But sadly the game didn't care about the answer.

Yeah, it's just about the only time that Shepard was given personality at all. I understand that Shepard is us, but I would have like greater opportunites to define our Shepards in-game, and to justify just why somebody as incredible as Tali is into him.

That reminds of me playing ME1:

"Shepard, what can I do for you?"
"See you later:wub:"

Repeat a couple dozen times

I thought it was more because a shotgun would very useful during her pilgrimage instead of something like an assault rifle and or a sniper rifle. If she runs into trouble on the Citadel, a shotgun would be very handy, a sniper rifle probably wouldn't. Also, it's not true that Tali only has tech skills. If you don't hug her on Alarei (inb4 OH MY GOD WHO WOULD DO THAT, YOU MONSTER BURN IN HELL), she reveals that she had gotten the best military training that the Flotilla could offer.

I've seen the vid.  Heh.

Anyway, you're kinda giving more evidence to the point:  most expected combats for a quarian, be they law enforcement or repelling boarders on the Flotilla or navigating the mean streets of Omega, are going to happen at close range, and possibly against superior numbers.

Yes, exactly. Closer quarter combat lends itself to shotguns.

The question is - do you think it would be unattractive if Tali was religious?

It's notable that action-quarian himself, Lemm-Shal, preferred shotguns, too.

A thinly veiled attempt at starting a religion themed ****storm?

This question is perhaps better asked pertaining to Ashley, since we don't know the context of quarian religion.
