Indeed, purring does not imply feline origin.
But don't people roleplay like....acting like cats....making a clawing gesture and going "meow"?
Purring is some kind of roleplaying I never heard of.

Oh, sure. I try to keep my own speculation to what parts of them we can see. Humans were probably endurance predators and we didn't need fangs or any of that stuff.
Still, I'm not quite sure what to think of quarians being ambush predators, it seems likely, but we'd have to get some in-game evidence to be sure.
Their legs certainly wouldn't allow for very fast, or long sprints (thanks to their bent shins, they can't stretch their legs as far as we can and still land flat on/at the tip of their feet), their legs wouldn't allow for leaping either, though they would allow them to jump higher in place.
The latter, combined with the fact that they could probably make some short, but powerful thrusts with their legs when running could allow for almost "glomp"-like assaults, so I reckon they had to be ambush predators too.

I just can't imagine nails on those toes/fingers, it'd just look odd. (Not to mention, development of nails like ours are extremely rare, even on Earth)
And if they do have appendages like that of sorts they'd have to be protractile, otherwise their fingers wouldn't look like they do now. I imagine those steel tips are there just as a precaution of them penetrating the suit, it that's the case.
