im willing to bet on a mid-late 2011 release so we'll be able to play it before the world ends ^_^

I sincerely hope that you don't really believe the world will end in 2012 :P

Don't worry, you'll see Ms. Vas Normandy soon enough ;)

Speaking of marriage, just how do you think aliens go about that? Surely they have some differences from humans in that regard, at least in terms of ceremonies and the like...I recall hearing that the Asari don't actually practice marriage at all, but other races do.

Kal'Reegar could potentially already be married for all we know.

Maybe.  We don't know enough, as said.  But really...Tali and VEETOR?  Yeeeeah.

If you're dead I don't think you will be worrying.
As for Tali, Kal'reegar is married to the fleet and Veetor is insane. We haven't met another character that would treat her right.

Presume you are FemShep instead, and view Tali as Little Sis.

Who would you hook her up with as Matchmaker: Kal'Reegar, or Veetor'Nara?

Kal'Reeger. Veetor has a thing going on with his nurse.

It depends. I can see Garrus and Tali being very confused by a human wedding.

I would think for quarians, that it would be a lot less of a lavish celebration (obviously,) and more about the words spoken.  Probably pretty similar overall though, just because the act of the two proffessing love seems pretty universal.

I like the Kal'Reegar/Tali pairing. If Tali can be treated as an unrequited love to Shepard until he notices her, so can Kal'Reegar to Tali. As for marriage, I don't believe in it.

I'd settle for a simple ceremony, where the two people involved invite friends and family, profess their union, then listen to music, eat, mingle, socialize, and simply celebrate it. Cut out all the extra useless crap, like what human marriages have...

In the Kal'Reegar or Veetor'Nara question, I don't think that's exactly a fair comparison because Veetor can turn out completely differently if you send him to Cerberus.

The results of that ^ are possibly the most heartbreaking thing in the game. :/

If it mattered, I'd take Jacob to the trial just so I could turn to him and go "Good call, ******."

Agree.  Communal history builds a 'family-like' atmosphere anyway.  No need for the pageantry that we use as a substitute for such a feeling.

No fancy vows, no ministers, no religious crap, no real formality, no expensive decorations or weeks of planning for foods and dress and stuff. Similar enough, but without the stupid frilly stuff. More like a family get together, acknowledging that the two people the party is for have decided they want to be together. Far less formal than a human affair.

Although it is completely an opinion I believe Tali is the greatest character in Mass Effect. Tali no doubt has the most depth as a character. Tali genuinely loves Shepard. She has loved him since Mass Effect 1 but never had the courage to confront him about it.

I think Tali is a beautiful woman and I love her voice. I love how she plays with her hands when she is nervous and how she has such good morals. I would have to say the biggest thing that made me fall for Tali was her loyalty mission which made my love for her increase substantially. Tali just seems to love Shepard the most. If you notice all the other characters you have to approach to get their love but Tali has loved you from the beginning.

I respect all those who have different views but I couldn't see myself falling for anyone else. Who I dont respect are those who put Tali down just because so many like her. These people are just looking for attention.

I just realized that I've really liked her since I first started playing Mass Effect 1. I was sorely disappointed that she wasn't a romance option. I was turned off by Liara because she was way too forward. I mean she almost immediately jumps into the sex talk with little motivation from Shepard's part (which doesn't do much to dispel the Asari promiscuity stereotype). It just seemd too physical with her. Ashley on the other hand seemed like an alright person, but we just didn't really have much in common. I don't mind aliens at all, but she was more aggressive on her humans must stand strong and alone approach. I wouldn't call her racist, but she's less fond of interacting with them. Frankly I couldn't really connect with the two. I only romanced one in a separate playthrough, with a side Shepard (a renegade one) (not my canon Shepard) just to get the achievement.

We are introduced to Tali about an hour into the game. A young Quarian woman who's on a journey to help her people who manages to get data from a Geth core (something Alliance scientists can't do). She freely gives the data to Shepard without asking for anything in return. This was an act of unparalleled selflessness as that data could have been sold for millions. Millions she could have given to the Fleet. Even after coming face to face with death, she still volunteered to go with Shepard to save the galaxy. During the mission she proved herself not to be some Mary Sue or a background prop, but a character with a complex backstory about family, duty and the greater good. Hell I had her on every squad I took out due to her unparalleled tech skills and shotgun. Seriously, I could rush through a room filled with mercs with her by my side.

During her conversations it was never really just about her, but about those around her and her people. She was always thinking of others before herself. I guess in a galaxy filled with so much evil, it's enlightening to meet someone of her calibur. The only time she asked for anything was after the Geth Incursion. Even then it wasn't about her. The Geth data would help her people reclaim their homeworld. I have no idea who would deny her that data. Logically it makes sense to give her the data. Who better to figure out how to defeat the Geth than the Quarians, also it is highly unlikely that the Alliance would ever give them access to that data. Morally, she's a good friend (even if I wanted more) and this is the only thing she ever asked of you.Anyways I'm a Spectre. I'm outside of Alliance jurisdiction.

Frankly I liked that she was an LI in ME2 instead of ME1. It allowed for a greater character development for her and Shepard as oppose to if it was just in ME1. Though new comers to the series would disagree (their loss). It added emotion and longing to her romance. It really was about trust, love and respect. Unlike most characters in ME2 (the good ones being Joker, Chakwas and Garrus), when she developed further as a character, she actually became a stronger woman with a greater confidence. Hell it felt good to yell down the Admiralty board when it came to defending her. I do believe his speech really was the right thing to say. First, it was clear that this trial was about politics and not her. Second, the trial wasn't really exactly just about the Alarei, but her judgement.

"Her loyalty was never in doubt, only her judgement." -Koris

"Maybe if Shepard could present something that would renew our confidence in her judgement." -Raan

So yes the speech was enough to give the Admirals a kick to the ass and to shove them into a corner where exonerating Tali was the only option. Due to their position of power, yelling them down was like yelling down the President of the United States, which made Shepard's speech even better.

So we get to her romance and even with her strong feelings, she's thinking of what's best for you than her. This just adds emotion and power to this romance, even more so than most Bioware romances. So rarely do you see a romance like this is a game, or even a movie, with such emotion.

Where the hell was I going with this? I forgot... Oh yeah! Tali is amazing. The end.

Proof positive right there that Cerberus sees other species as stepping stones at best.

And this is why I have the urge to dope slap Timmay's glowing contact lenses out when he says the line about diplomacy being good but problematic when everyone else already percieves you as a threat.

And Miranda prattles on, actually believing the nonsense coming out of her mouth.  :?
