I fail to see how Miranda is fan-service in any shape or form, but then again I don't see why people would complain about Tali and Garrus's fan service. It doesn't hurt the game, and it's executed INCREDIBLY well.mrsph wrote...

Not at all. I hate Miranda and Jacob. I respect that some people love them. That is their opinion.
However, I am of the opinion, that anyone who hates Tali because they don't like her fans, or who think romancing her is pedophilia or bestiality, are complete and utter morons.

Indeed.
There's having a different opinion (which is fine, it makes the world go round) and then there's just being crude.

Perspective is great. I love perspective. Everyone has different opinions. Everyone reaches different judgements. Knowing these, learning these, can make you stronger, it can give you experiences and knowledge you couldn't obtain otherwise. All viewpoints should be considered, and further conclusions can be drawn.
However, people who add nothing more than useless drivel backed with no other logical reasoning than because they hate an associated person or their beliefs, are hardly constructive. This is why I find it irritating.

I still fancy that a Tali-Shepard relationship is still technically classified as 'bestiality'. This is not to say that such a label would be true in any sense of the word, I just like to think that the Systems Alliance could fail that horribly at updating their laws.

I know. My major gripe with Mass Effect 2 is the character's rarely acknowledge each other's presence.
It does make the times that they do talk to each other kinda cool.
I can understand why there's limited specific character cross dialog as the time and price it would take to record all of that (more so considering the large cast) would probably not really be worth it as most players will only see a percentage of it.

I doubt this is actually a problem. The Alliance would likely adopt certain Council initiatives when gaining an embassy, such as a "Bill of Rights". I'm sure this would have provisions for interspecies relationships, similar to how they had to accept the Treaty of Farixan. Revelations also says Earth Religion had to adapt quickly to aliens. I'm assuming this means that not only can you obtain a state marriage liscence, but also a religious certificate as well.

Well apparently Garrus's voice is unintentional Audio Erotica, according to TV Tropes.
Being of an incompatible sexual orientation, I don't see it as such. But I can see how it would.

I wanted to ask you guys (and its probably been discussed before but sheesh 10k of pages...) so I hope you don't mind me asking again. In your eyes is Tali the classic damsel in distress or is she the self assured woman on a mission? I'm writing my first ff with Tali as the LI and was interested in how she's percieved by the majority of fans.

Your "Galactic Bill of Rights" idea makes a great deal of sense. It got me to wondering how bad the debate was on Earth as to if it should be accepted. On one side, you have the Pro-Human Alliance that wouldn't want to subjegate human desires to the Laws of other races. Included in this group would be your "inter-species relationships are squicky/immoral/etc people. On the other hand, you would have your 'Cooperation is Key Coalition', which would see the great benefits offered by the Council Races.

You know, I was VERY worried about Kasumi when she was first introduced. Looking at pictures and her bio, I was thinking she was going to be some gloomy, rough-edged, boring character that wouldn't fit in with the rest of the cast.
Oh
While not my favorite ME character ever, I have to admit that I was surprised at how quickly I grew to like her.
So good job BioWare.
