HA!

I find your use of the term "Free Market" when talking about a slave strangely humorous.

But yeah. I feel bad for her too...

You know your unexperienced with a Free Market Economy when you are forced to become a commodity yourself...

:crying:

I thought you liked the idea of slavery, Red.

The Volus are badass. They're like really short Quarians, except their suits are rounded out because of the ridiculous amounts of money stashed inside from their epic business deals.

Talk to the Used Ship Salesman on the Citadel, he has some hilarious lines if you keep speaking to him. "I think you'll want a large shuttle with seating for many bulbous children!"

Oh gawd, I had forgotten that line.

Xen.

Sorry...

But yeah... I bet it's really a wake up call to many quarians...

Just look at how downtrodden Lia was...

Ow, my heart. . . :crying:

Man how I wish there was something more I could have done for Lia. Hell, I gave the kid on Omega the cash he needed to leave. I could have spared a few bucks for Lia as well. At least the girl could have bought a nice dinner that night or something. . .

I like to imagine, that, off screen, my Shepard pulled her aside, gave her his E-mail adress, and told her if anyone gives her more trouble, send him a message, and he'll kick in some damn doors.

No one ****s with my quarian's people.

I actually think its less than it would seem.  Tali's remarks in ME1 say that few don't return as it is, and even among those, its unclear how many just decide to stay around the galaxy as opposed to have something bad happen to them.  Her comments also lead me to believe that a lot take the easy way out and just bring back fuel or food.  Our view gets twisted a little when we see that Kenn has got himself stuck, and Lia and ME1 Tali taking the hard way around.

Ah, we actually had a fairly good discussion last night on what the purpose of the Pilgrimage may be. Their Pilgrimage gift would reflect on what the quarian sees as beneficial and what they value, while also teaching them firsthand what it meant to survive outside of their own fleet.

Come on, Rip.  I'm callous.  I'm not callous to the point of being pro-slavery.

Modern Economies exist primarily because social welfare programs allow a baseline in which the average person cannot fall beneath.  Without that baseline, you have slavery.  Slavery, as a business model, is inefficent.  The guards and paperwork required to maintain a subjegated population for any length of time can cut into profits.

It its better to have a system in which the workers make enough to sustain themselves, but not enough to exist without your company.

He's cool, but I don't really get the nut-riding.  So he's got a famous VA.  Big deal.
