Not likely, as he turns himself in to C-Sec. There is a news report saying they don't know what to do as they can't extradite him to Omega.

I saved him. But I don't really see it as saving him. I see it as saving Garrus.

I let Garrus kill him after learning of his mental state. He pretty much accepts death as a release from his torment.

I just did on my last playthrough. I had no idea initially that you could save him without losing Garrus' loyalty, so I thought I had no choice.

I saved him. I only play Paragon. Plus, it's nice to be a positive influence for Garrus.

Sparing him is more cruel.

A bullet ends him instantly.

While leaving him alive is dooming him to a living hell till he dies.

This.

I tried to persuade him all through out ME1 to not be ruthless and this was just one of those moments of me "teaching" him.

First 5, let him die. With one exception of going full renegade later, all the rest were saving him. At first, I didn't know there was a way to save him and didn't bother. Then, I didn't care because I didn't know that he would react with remorse (as he doesn't react that way when he starts the encounter). Then, I went full paragon and found out what happens later. I don't think Garrus is fully able to let go of his revenge that way, but I think it's good for Garrus to learn to live with such things... especially if he hangs with Shepard some more.

When I first did it, I was like "Garrus didn't learn anything I told him, screw him!" and was willing to forfeit the loyalty by saving Sidonis. Unfortunately, Garrus still becomes loyal because Paragons cannot be punished.

I saved him on my first paragon playthrough. But after that, even when playing paragonish, I find Sidonis too whiney to live.

The bullet that passes into his body is a bullet of judgment and revenge, not one of mercy.

And regardless, it is not your place to decide who should or shouldn't be put out of their misery, unless you know that person well.

This sounds like it's bordering on a Kevorkian argument.

Why go to the trouble of traveling the Citadel, killing about 20 mercenaries who probably have less blood on their hands than Sidonis does, and then just telling Garrus off?

I hate the paragon option on this mission precisely because it just makes the entire mission seem like a waste of time. A real paragon would have tried to persuade Garrus to just forget about Sidonis completely. Or maybe it would work better if Garrus lied to Shepard at the start of the mission and didn't admit that his plan was to kill Sidonis all along.

I think that's a really good point that I hadn't thought about before. At the very least, the Paragon Shepard should make sure Sidonis is arrested instead of killing all those guys to get to him and then just forgiving him and letting him go.

If Sidonis wasn't in public, my Shep would've killed him by himself.

Paragon with a Halo saved Garrus by convincing him to spare Sidonis. She did want to punch Sidonis in the face, though. He was a coward.

Psycho Renegade chick would have put a few extra rounds through his skull if they hadn't been in public. Then she ran off with Garrus and they made out in Main Gunnery.

I played as a ~90% paragon, but this was one of the 10% where I went renegade. He helped end the lives of otherwise innocent members of his own vigilante team. And despite having ample time to do it afterwards, Sidonis didn't do himself any favors by not revealing to Garrus that the reason he fatally betrayed multiple members of his team was because he was under duress himself.

Stupid? No. Self-righteous and arrogant? Absolutely. Why agree to take Garrus to the Citadel to hunt this guy down when you knew from the outset he planned to assassinate him? Why did you charge after Fade? He was no threat to you. Let him run and call C-Sec. Gunning down the first two or three mercs who open fire at you at the entrance is self-defense, but after that you charged in there with intent to kill anyone who got in your way.

That's not very paragon.

At least with Samara and Thane's recruitement missions you have the authority of the police (Samara's case) or there are innocent people in immediate danger (Thane's case).

Garrus' loyalty mission just wasn't thought about too well and it doesn't hold up under scrutiny if you are playing as a paragon.

The object of this mission was to confront Sidonis, and to confront Garrus's issues. These mercs were obstacles in the way of that confrontation.

You kill those mercs because they work for Harkin, who is corrupt and employing the use of corrupt Blue Suns, and they will kill you on Harkin's orders.

You do this to bring Garrus face-to-face with Sidonis, because nothing will satisfy him short of actually finding the man who betrayed his team. Letting Sidonis run is not enough. Contacting C-Sec and telling them where he is is not enough.

Sometimes, it is only when the power to destroy the one who wronged you is before you that you are able to forgive him, or at least to begin to.
