What was the big sword in Dragon Age origins (minus DLC)?

You mean the two big swords on the main menu screen? Those are Asala (Sten's sword) and Yusaris.

Given this end game lore from Awakenings, will repeatedly equiping between left and right hand slots be an exploit?

I agree that it grew more powerful and had several masters. Like I said, Hawke could of been one of them.

Perhaps Hawke should find Vigilance stuck in a stone or maybe a woman in a lake gives it to him :police:

I wanna say he hears stories about it being stolen from the antivan crows and takes it from Zevran.

Yes, Vigilance should be in every game of the Dragon Age series as the ultimate loot.

Maybe same sort of appearance as that goddamn attack Sephiroth had which ended up appearing every other game grrrrrrrrrrrrr

But if it was on OUR side, then hell yeah. Would've thought it could only be gotten by killing the previous owner though, which would sort of cast doubt on it being the ultimate sword....

Bah Vigilance. All I wanted was to use Starfang in awakening Bioware, was that too much to ask?

I personally feel that the story about Vigilance getting stolen is retconned if you do like I did and go through the Eluvian with Morrigan. Vigilance and the Heartwood Shield went through it with me so how could it be stolen by someone in the normal realm?

Yes, I totally necro'd this thread.

The Lady of the Lake, her arm clad in the purest shimmering samite held aloft Excalibur from the bosom of the water, signifying by divine providence that I, Arthur, was to carry Excalibur.

Vigilance belongs to the great Warden Commander of Ferelden and not (temporarily) to the douchebag called Hawke.

So BioWare did this after all...

2 years after Awakening (Witch Hunt) the Warden still has the sword. Apparently it "gets stolen" afterwards, however, the crows shouldn't take any missions regarding me anymore. Oh yeah, plothole anyone?

I really do hope this swords is unobtainable by normal means, because as stated above, it does only belong to the mighty Warden. My Warden went through the mirror WITH the sword equipped, there is no chance for the crows to acquire it and bring it to Kirkwall. Bad lore decision, really bad!
