Even though we can import our warden into this DLC, it is not a continuation of the Warden's story because this is just a high-level dungeon crawl. What people wants to see is a resolution with Morrigan or Alistair.

Honestly, I don't mind expansions or DLC for Origins but for the future I am actually happy they are writing a new story, with a new character, with new goals, new reasons, meaning another perspective on Thedas in DA2.

The Blight is over. I see no need to continue the Warden's story, unless the Architect or one his surviving disciples is still alive and causing trouble.

It's just DLC, will not carry any story over...it's just one of the Wardens many places he vists on thw way to find Morrigan, hell hes close to the Frostback Mountains now. Will there be more of the Warden's story, I think there will be, there is still too much money to be made off the fans of the frist game that liked the Warden.

I always thought my Warden would go to find Morrigan, maybe end the Blights forever (find the other Archdemons and end the curse) or even become a god himself. There are so many options and things to do, and why would another character be more suited? After all, my Warden would be the first to end a Blight and survive, that's quite outstanding already and there has to be more ...

I trust that too many people are influenced by Tolkien and what he did in Lord the Rings, where in the final appendix he wrote what happened to all the protagonists of the story, what they did in their life, if they married, what age they died and so on..

Personally it was the part of the book that I hate.. I don't wanna know what the hero did AFTER the tale, I don't wanna know if he became old and died at 102 or if he died as soon as he turned the corner, if he became a general and conquered the world or he became a farmer and retired from adventures

When the tale is finished for me the story is over, and to see the hero disappear in the sunset is a proper conclusion.. maybe he had other adventures, maybe he had not, this is not a thing I want to know.

Well i have some good news in my opinion.  While searching the BIOWARE forums I noticed that multiple individuals havd said David Gaider (Lead Writer for ALL THINGS Dragon Age)confirmed that the Warden's Storyline was OVER/DONE.  I of course panicked because I still wanted to play my Warden at least one last time.  Naturally, I searched the forum for this supposed quote... I found Nothing.  I then asked the people who quoted him where they found the quote... they did not reply... So Finally I emailed Mr Gaider himself and this was the email I sent him:

Dear Mr Gaider,
First, thanks for all your Hard Work... I loved DAO and DAA. A question... you have been quoted as saying the Warden's Story is completely over from people on these forums. However I cannot find that quote anywhere online and people who have quoted you won't reveal their source. Did you say it or are people misinterpreting your words?

Again thank you for your work... looking forward to seeing more of it. Dragon Age is great.

I said that DA2's story is not about the Warden. I assume people are extrapolating from that, as no-- I've never said the Warden's story is completely over.

Now this doesn't CONFIRM more Warden Time but it does CONFIRM he/she isn't over.  Who knows... maybe there will be another expansion pack coming out before DA2. Maybe the Warden is going to be implemented into DA3 because of the community uproar pertaining to his/her absence from the main story thread in DA2. This does get me hopeful for more expansion packs in the Dragon Age Origins Universe:)

Don't get me wrong but if you killed the Archdemon without Ritual then the Warden's story is over, and even in Awakening you can play another Warden from Orlais. So I doubt in their next DLC you can only play your Warden and not let some other Warden take over. So if David even said that, it is still wrong. The DA:O Warden's Story ends with killing the Archdemon. Who the guy in Awakening or other post Archdemon battle DLCs is, is not canonized.

I've always assumed, well after the DA2 announcement, that the wardens story will continue within the DAO seried of DLC's and expansions, so not news to me.



On a side note, I'm picturing David getting tons of PMs with questions now. poor guy. lol

Mr. Gaider doesn't cease to amaze me. I've yet to see another game developer who is as open to conversation with fanbase as he is (well, he and maybe Ghostcrawler of the WoW fame). He actualy replied to your e-mail? I'm impressed. Thank you, Mr. Gaider. We appreciate what you do.

Maybe you are reading more into it.

DLC? For sure. Expansion for Origins? Unlikely but possible. Warden in DA3? little to no chance.

But when you say that you hope that the Warden's story isnt over what exactly is it that you want to see? Closure? New adventures featuring the Warden? The Warden reunited with Morrigan? In my opinion Bioware should leave the end of the Warden's story up to the imagination of the individual, I have even made a thread that allows people to create and post the end to their Warden's story if you would like to share your own.

Sorry man but I feel that the Warden's story has no closure... You just disappear?  And leaving it up to the imagination of the player is kinda lame in my opinion.  What's better Drama?  Hawke meeting the God Child or my Warden meeting the God Child......... (And yes my Warden made the baby and I don't care if others didn't make the baby because I did).

Thankfully DA2 isn't about the grey warden. Much like the Spectres and the Spirit Monks before them, the Grey Wardens seem like a very boring vehicle to advance the narrative. Bioware writers seem to be very convinced we will only love our player character if he is a member of a super-secret organization.

Remember die hard? bruce willis was a great action hero because he was fat and bald. believable characters > unbelievable characters.
