Telwyn has nothing to say

Hi,
in my most recent game I finished the Sarles quest with the fake Illithium, then went back to Telwyn to report. Usually, he should accept the fake Illithium as a replacement and give me a reward anyway, but instead he "has nothing to say". If I talk to him with anyone other than my main character, he does talk, but all he says is that he wants to speak with the PC only.

I found an old thread over at SHS that seems to describe the same issue, unfortunately it hasn't been solved there.

I'm using the Unfinished Business mod which slightly changes the Sarles quest, and the randomizer (with WeiDU) which changes its reward.

Any ideas what might be causing this and how to fix it? How do you diagnose issues like this?

Here's my WeiDU.log. It's a bit long... is there any way to put it in a scroll bar in this forum?

Check the following conditions:

You possess the illithium alloy

The global variable SarlesPissed is 1

The global variable SculptorDone is 0

Oisig is nearby

Are they all true?

Thanks, that was it!

For some reason Oisig wasn't there. Using CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("BHOISIG") I could call him in and the dialog worked just as it should.
The variable SculptorDone wasn't set at all in my game and didn't seem to matter either. I tried setting it to 0 after seeing the thread over on SHS, but it didn't do anything. SarlesPissed was set to 1 and I had the alloy with me.
In case anyone else gets this, note that there is an OISIG and a BHOISIG. The latter is the one you need, the first one has nothing to say either.

Do you have any idea why I didn't have an Oisig in the first place? I'm good-aligned, so my questgiver for the Unseeing Eye is the guy from the Lathander temple. However, if I call BHOISIG as mentioned above, he also asks me about my progress in that quest.

By the way, randomized Telwyn had the boots of speed as a reward for me. That sure was worth it! :D

Normally you only get the Unseeing Eye quest from Arval if you're a good cleric. In that case you should also get the sculptor quest from Sain, rather than Telwyn. If you do not do the quest for the Helmites bhoisig won't be in the temple of Helm. Maybe it's a bug in the multi-stronghold component.

This is getting interesting. According to my journal, I got the quest from Telwyn. However, I can in fact report the results to Sain at the Lathander temple just fine. Should Telwyn be spawned at all for a good-aligned cleric PC?

I realized that when I turn in the Illithium to Sain, I get a different quest reward (the periapt of life). Irrbloss, did you consider this when adding the helm of glory to the randomized items for mode 2? This way, non-neutral clerics will miss out on one random tier-1-item (in my case the boots of speed) and get a non-randomized reward instead.

He's there for everyone, and can task you with helping him regardless of whether or not you can also do the quest for Yarryl or Sain.

I realized that when I turn in the Illithium to Sain, I get a different quest reward (the periapt of life). Irrbloss, did you consider this when adding the helm of glory to the randomized items for mode 2? The reward situation is pretty messy in the vamilla game.
Ordinarily you get the mace Ardulia's Fall if you perform the Unseeing Eye quest and do not join a temple. If you join a temple you get some cash instead. Then for the sculptor quest your reward varies with whether you have joined or not. If you haven't joined you get the Helm of Glory from Helm, the periapt from Lathander and Ardulia's Fall (again) from Talos.

I was thinking homogenising the rewards, but for some reason I was starting to reconsider. But I think I'll add it for v5.
