All I'm looking for is an explanation on how, if possible, to either de-level a character or at least edit the amount of XP a character currently has. My guy's level 20 and about to finish off the last of the treaty missions in the Origins campaign, and I'm concerned that I'll be 22 or 23 or even 24 by the time I actually finish, and I'm told that starting Awakenings much beyond 20 makes the game trivial even on Nightmare.
So, if possible, I'd like to bump him back down to 18, or at least figure out a way to keep him at 20. I've tinkered with the save file a bit, but I can't seem to find XP or level values anywhere in it. What I was told was the XP line under creature stats has a value that doesn't look like it corresponds with my character's XP value.
A (hopefully) simple question...

that's not how DA works. Xp is just a number , level is just a number, to bust a character down you will also need to remove all stats that was gain during those levelups. it would be eaiser to freeze a savegame to appropipiate level and then copy and paste that character into a later savegame.

That's doable, I have over 100 save files, plenty of them are around level 18-19.
What specifically would I need to copy and paste?

Okay, so there aren't any plot flags or anything that I need to worry about in the player character section? Inventory, stuff like that?
