Griffons in DA2?

I personally think it would be pretty
nifty to BioWare to use griffons at least in cut scenes of your party
traveling in DA2.
Does anyone think that we will see griffons in DA2? If so, in what form?

Therefore you have definitely no chances to have griffons, exactly like any other mount...

Why would BioWare feature them so prevalently in the lore if they had absolutely no plans of ever including them in DA?

Yeah. A Griffon would be nice, but maybe further down the road (DA3...along w/ the Warden?

The Griffons in Thedas have been extict for hundreds of years.

After all, there are animals on Earth that were long believed to be extinct, like the coelacanth.

I'd love to see them. Doubt I will, but it be cool. It could even be a quest to find the griffin, griffin egg, griffin circus, griffin time portal, griffin alchemal experieent, frozen griffin, hidden griffin colony in the mountains, the lost warden griffin herder- don't make me continue.
Viva dead griffins!
oooo, griffin zombies

All this time I thought it meant just kept in captivity to be viewed by only paying customers. No wonder I couldn't find any dodos in zoos...

It may say they're extinct, but the entries in the codex aren't canonical, they're merely the views of the authors. It's still possible for griffons to return if Bioware wishes it, if Thedas is anything like the real world in medieval times then large parts of it are still unexplored.
After all, there are animals on Earth that were long believed to be extinct, like the coelacanth.
Exactly my point. I'm sure you could find a few books that say it is impossible to travel faster than sound, that people from Ireland are born inferior to the "real" white races of Europe or that the oceans around the Equator will literally boil any ship that enters them. Being in a book (codex) does not necessarily make something true.

I'd only enjoy the return of Griffins if only they were made extinct immediately after.
