This may have been asked before but the search function on this thing is a bit of a ****.  I just finished my second play through of Mass Effect, setting up all of my consequences to how I wanted to carry on in Mass Effect 2.  When I got Mass Effect 2, it showed two different versions of the same character (one level thirty something, one level fifty something) but would only let me import the old one (with the consequences I don't want).  I went and played the last level again, and it offered me three versions of the same character, two of them at the fifty something level and one thirty, with only the thirty available.  Is it impossible to import anything after the first play through or am I missing something and being a colossal '******?

EDIT: Disregard, I was 'tarding about.  For some reason, you can't use the stick, you have to use D-Pad there.  What a great introduction to the forum.

That solution was actually the first one I thought of when I read your post. I've done it myself too.

Yeah, analog stick doesn't work there. You HAVE to use the d-pad for navigation.

Ha ha, don't be so hard on yourself! As I already told you, you're not alone. I made the same mistake when I first tried, if you can even call it a mistake, and I'm sure others have done it too. I honestly don't understand why you can't use the analog stick to select career, IMO it's easy to be fooled.
