Hi :)

Wizard (magician) : Press "b" and your spell book will open. move the spells you want to learn from the spells on the left to the empty squares on the right, then rest

Sorcerer : Rest

Hope that helps

Have fun :)

If your playing a magician (Wizard) you need to have its Intelligence points equal to the spell level you want to be able to cast, +10. So to cast 0 level spells, you need a INT of 10, for 1st level spells, a INT of 11, up to 19, for 9th level spells,

For a Sorc, its Charisma, 10 for 0 level, 11 for 1st and so on.

If your playing a Character that is both a Sorc and Wiz, consider starting a new one or the other class untill you get the feel for it.

You can also learn spells from scrolls you find or eventually buy.
I always forget to do it myself...
You're using the Quick slots in the bar at the bottom of the screen, right?
You're saying you're playing a magician and a sorcerer, I suppose you're talking about two different Personal Characters (short for PCs) already, right?
Are you playing the OC? Playing a magician will be easy if you're from the organized type of people, and a sorcerer is you are more of the messy kind, like myself.
Those two classes are truly destroyers in high levels but quite weak, or difficult to survive with, in the early ones.
Don't forget your best weapon: a good savegame.

Even though most of Charisma, gets a zero on top of the "magic".

I said why magician and sorcerer have in different games. I wanted to know how to have other members in my "team" as a mercenary for hire more or have more than one on my team.

You need to sleep, rest. Press R on your keyboard? Check those icons in the far right upper corner. There is a "rest" one. Your PC is gonna seat on the ground for resting, unless you're in a "no sleep" area.

I suggest you concentrate on one PC first. Let say a sorcerer then?
It would be great if you answer the questions above if you want us to be able to help.
You've got plenty of time to hire an henchman (= mercenary). First you gotta learn how to survive.
How did you build your sorcerer? Starting with a 16 for Charisma would be a good idea...
Please, answer the questions above. We're in the dark here.
My advice: start playing with a fighter, to get in the NWN mood.

It looks complicated but it's not. Just like anything else.

Actually I started playing a fighter, but when I arrived in prison on the peninsula, already with a mercenary I faced a warlock. I had trouble I could kill him more. Then right in front next to another witch I chose when I got to level Sorcerer, and saved, and then save with the previous one magician. Wherefore I harmed, I did not get to them, but "changed" later. I tried to rest but can not be near by enemies.

Here is probably what is going on, based on my understanding. You had a PC fighter, and took a level of sorc, before or durring the battle with the warlock. What is your PCs charisma? 10? if so you will only ever be able to cast 0 level arcane spells.  After a level up, you must rest to get access to the new spells. If you are to close to an enemy, you will not be able to rest, Move out of the area till you can rest, then go back in. Also, if your wearing armor, it will mess up the casting of arcane spells. take off the armor, (can't in combat) to avoid the cast failure from armor.

Note, unless you have a specific character build planned, taking levels willy nilly, Like a level of this and a level of that, will probably only frustrate you. a level 2 fighter, with a hench, could have probably closed to melee and killed the warlock faster than a fighter/sorc. it has to do with hit points, a fighter gets 10, a sorc 4 per lev, plus/minus the constitution bonus/pen.

I went to a place I could relax, then rested, and the problem was resolved with the magic :D, I have 14 charisma. Now
I would only like to know how to have more of a mercenary working for
me, or if any npc in the game to join me, where he stays.

Thank you for everything, waiting your reply.

you have msn, twitter or some means of communication?

Since you are obviously playing the Official Campaign (OC),  you should really post questions (like this) regarding the OC in the "NwN Official Canpaign (Spoilers Warning) " forum where spoilers are allowed.  For those who enjoy exploring and finding all the information themselves, a helpful answer for your question could spoil their fun.

Continue to post your general questions like the one about spells right here.

Also, I recommend starting a new topic in the OC forum with a title to match your question since this last question you ask has nothing to do with Spells.  I and others would be more than happy to help you through the learning process over in the OC forum.

And welcome aboard!

The sorcerer in the prison can be tough, did you take the knockdown feat? Also, it's a good idea to rest in places such as previously cleared areas. You can go outside, for example.

In the OC you can't have more than one henchman at a time. The only ways to get more team members would be using familiars (if you're a wizard) or animal companions (if you're a druid or a ranger but rangers only get that feat at lvl 6) or summoned creatures (if you're able to cast the "Summon Creature" spell or able to read "Summon Creature" scrolls).

If you want a really big party you could start over with a druid, that would allow you to be accompanied by one animal companion, one summoned creature and one henchman. And you could invest in the "Animal Empathy" skill and use it to charm one animal to follow you. So you could have a party of 5 if you find an animal you can charm in the city.

Or go multiplayer with a friend.

There might be an override hak that enables you to choose more than one henchman at a time but sadly I don't know anything about it.

If you play a Sorc, or Wiz, you can summon a familiar. If you play a Druid, you can summon a animal companion. Sorcs and Wiz, Clerics and Druids can also summon a helper that will join you in addition to the familiar or animal compainion, via the summon creature01-09 spell. There is also other temporary party joiners from other spells. All in addition to your Henchman that you hire. A PC could have a party of, hench, familiar, animal companion, and summon. total of 5. However you will see a XP drop because of such a large party. In the Expansion HotU, you can add 2 henchmen in stead of one. There is/are workarounds for this, on the vault. Try a search and see what you find.

Keep in mind that the bigger the party, the less XP per kill your PC will get.  There is a game table that keeps track of the applied percentage but figure roughly about -10% XP (with significantly more due to rounding down of small XP rewards) per extra member and that means henchman, summons, familiars... whatever.

I am amazed.
You started playing NWN only 24 hours ago and you're already heading for OHS! with 10 henchies by your side. :wizard:
So, if you're that kind of new player, check my signature. The second link is for you. You're my kind of man. :alien:

*** I never thought this would ever happen... ***

As I said, I'm amazed.
