Why is impressed? I'm finishing the first chapter. And you could tell me, with "other" words that would henchies?
because I am Brazilian, and as I prefer the international forums of games, but i do not speak english very well... :crying:

jml can answer for himself I'm certain but until he shows up again maybe I can interpret ...

First off: Henchies (or henchmen) = mercenaries

He means it is VERY unusual for a beginner who has just begun the first campaign to begin using haks. Most first-time NWN gamers (myself included) have their hands full just getting used to the standard game without adding any more variables.   NWN's version of D&D requires an education in itself, IMO.

As far as the 10 henchies goes... OHS allows you to make the party as large as you like.  10 sounds like a nice round number to me, as well. Those of us who enjoyed playing Baldur's Gate and then switched over to NWN missed the big parties so haks like the one Oldmansbeard makes is one way to create the same type of environment.

I hope this helps explain.

jml: if I misinterpreted your intention, please correct me, eh?

Question for you Akira:  Are you playing the English version of NWN?

A "henchman" , or a "henchwoman" :kissing:, in the NWN langage, is what you call a mercenary yourself. A henchman = a mercenary.
I called henchies = a group of many hench(wo)men, but it's just me maybe.
A plural, like henchmen, sort of. Some call a henchman a henchy, so I went for henchies when they are many of them.
Why 10 henchies? Just a joke. You seem to love having many of henchies, so...

Like HipMaestro said! (You're welcome, anytime.)

If you're playing the OC, one thing to never forget about the henchies: if you want to free one to get another one, do it through the dialogue (Am I correct here, guys and girls, or is that through the radial menu?). Don't just click on the next one before freeing the former one, otherwise a bug will come up.
You have to say bye bye to your only mercenary every time you want to switch with another one.

And do not worry, Akira Robert, about not writing in english well enough. No one does it perfectly here, we're all pretending.
You're brazilian :wizard:, I'm french , we don't have anything to be ashamed of, for being :alien:
No one ever complained so far. And believe me, they could have, many times already...
They're pretty decent people in my opinion. :innocent::P

Welcome to NWN by the way.

Using the in-game dialogue is the only reliable method to dispatch and hire mercenaries in the standard, un-hakked OC.  But with OHS installed, I'm not sure.  Maybe OHS has a custom method to dismiss and enlist them?

Here is a link to the legacy BioBoard's henchman thread, if you have some spare time on your hands:
