i'm pretty new to the toolset. is there a way to modify the 2H version of Starfang, to look like the 1H version? i have followed the instructions of this article http://social.biowar.../5339/blog/576/ it gives a tutorial on creating a custom weapon insertable to the single player campaign, but it can't really do what i want. based on the weapon type, i can only select a few preset models. i would like all the stats of the starfang (2H) to remain as it is, just that the graphical appearance is swapped with that of the 1-handed version.
if it's possible to swap in the single-handed model, would i also need to change the size of it to the exact size of the two-handed model, to comply with any gameplay combat issues? i don't mind if the animation/weapon grip looks funny, so as long as mechanics-wise it still functions exactly like the 2-handed model.
I don't mind altering the main campaign files. could someone give a short tutorial on this?

It should be easy enough in principle to change the reference in the 2H MMH so that it used the 1H mesh instead. Whether or not that would cause animation issues I don't know, although I suspect it would, given the size differences. That said, Starfang is a DLC weapon and, as far as I know, the files are in an encrypted ERF, so it may well be moot.
EDIT: Ah, here's something interesting. It appears that the 1H Starfang model is just a retexture of the Keening Blade model. That is a vanilla Origins sword, so you'll be able to access the files for that. All you need to do is find out the various filenames for each.
