Vampires obsessed with sex are fine with me provided they are like this. [Sort of NSFW]

Oh god, I love that video.Posted Image

...But I wanted to make a vampire who sparkles like a diamond (or glitter glue!).

I mean seriously, when was the last time you saw/played a bad ass vampire? Bloodlines (obviously) or even Kain from the Blood Omen series?

Having read a bit more about Bloodlines, I've decided that I really need to play that game.Posted Image

More on topic, I will say that blood mages as they exist in this game are rather vampiric, even if they don't fit the modern idea of a vampire.

I do recommend it, just make sure you patch it, if with nothing else than at least patch 1.2

Lord I hope not. I especially hated the Oblivion vampires, though mostly because they ruined all that time I spent in the character creator by mutating my poor ranger in to a fugly old man. I would much rather they expanded blood magic. That's about as close as I ever want them to come to vampirism in this game.

You should be able to be a vampire or theyre should be vampires intsead of werewolfs in DA2, but unlike TES, the vampires should be super hot and attractive. It makes sense cos in vampire lore, vamps are supposed to be suductive, sexual and attractive. TES got it wrong

Clearly you've never seen Nosferatu.

Vampires are awesome, just not the twilight sparkling sissy "I can't bite people even though I'm a vampire" type of vampire. Twilight ruined vampire fiction. I prefer Dracuala, Nosferatu also Anne Rice's vampires stories were quite good as well.

Everything you said was ok until you got to that. Anne Rice partially ruined vampires as well. Instead of ungodly blood sucking monsters, she writes about angsty, leather wearing douchebags who might drink blood every now and then.

At least the Anne Rice vampires drank human blood and didn't sparkle. They had more human qualities and less of the monsters of past vampire fiction, and Lestat did complain but they still had the monster quality and were still much better Vampires than those of today. Have you ever read the books? The movies aren't the same. In fact the queen of the damned movie has a completly different sire for Lestat. Lestat's real sire Magnus sounded like quite a monster. Also Lestat never fell in love with a human in the book. I don't mind Vampires being given more human qualities to some extent, but todays 'Twilight' scene completely takes away everything good about vampires and replaces it with crap.

I have mixed feelings about Anne Rice. On one hand, she churned out a handful of decent vampire tales. At the very least, her stuff was a hell of a lot better than the current trend of fluffy, sparkly vampire crap. On the other hand, she probably deserves most of the blame for popularizing the "sexy vampire" trope, thereby leading to the current trend of fluffy, sparkly vampire crap.

Do you think we'll see a vampire/undead specialization? I was reading another forum and noticed someone asking about a vampire build.

I've only seen this in Elder Scrolls 4, where you could create a character that could be a vampire or zombie with rapid health regen.

Do you think we'll get anything like this in DA2?

I hope not. All Twilight fans should be thrown into camps, there to be processed into candles. Posted Image Posted Image

As to vampirism that is not demonically induced, that seems a step too far lore-wise.

Hey, I love vampires.  And I don't count sparklepires as vampires.  Though one of my friends had something very special to say about Twilight's supernatural creatures: if they have none of the weaknesses of normal vampires, and they live for freaking ever, they should be out there fighting terrorists or defending civilians or kicking supervillain ass.

And thus was born one of my favorite D&D PCs: Shane the Dhampyr, who punches people to death as Athkatla's Batman   So vampires aren't all bad.
