I'm looking for good entertainment and would like to know what movies y'all like. I'd love to hear about movies that are worth watching. Movies that have it all: Good writing, good acting good directing and a plot that makes sense with solid characters. The movie can be really recent or quite old. It can be action packed, dramatic or comedy. It justs needs to be good.

I'll start with one of mine:

To Kill a Mockingbird. It's a classic and rightly so. It's old and in black and white, but it hasn't aged. I first saw it when I was nine. I remember being furious with my father because he wasn't Atticus Finch (I've since forgiven him ;)). There is action, the characters are memorable and the film is beautifully directed.

What movies do you like?

Recently from friday through to Monday I watch all Lord Of The Rings exteded edition.
Super awsome.

1. Cost £17 for entire thing (a game here cost £40) I get 67% off on amazon.
2. Each movie has three separate DVD commentary's including Peter Jackson and all cast members
3. The actual box case is beautiful looking with hand drawn concept art in the inside sleeve.
4. Extra Appendix )bonus material) about 20 hours worth of materiel.
5.Each movie have 30 minutes to 45 minutes new materail, some of the
stuff make movie less stupid and make more sense, Boromir and little
Faramir no longer startrek redcoats just there, properly explained now
with plot.
6. Best epic trilogy ever, better than Dragon Age by about a million times, Matrix by a billion, Godfather by a million and starwars by about 50 million. Best Trilogy ever, for winners/

Lot's of new scenes, better movies, 40 hours of entertainment for about half the price of a retail video game. Movies still at higher quality than video games, and this is top dog movie, epic deal.

Also this guys awsome looking

Well, some ones I've liked for a bit:
-Let the Right one in: Puts every vampire movie to shame.
-Artificial Intelligence: I've always liked this movie.....don't know why
-The Conversation: Suspenseful....

Some new ones I've found:
- The White Ribbon: Just check out my thread which you've done
- The Machinist: Creepy, and really good acting
- Factory Girl: A little exploitive, but touching.
- Salt: Still in Theaters but it's a fun movie
-The Other Boylen Girl: Watched it a couple days ago, pretty good.

Spaceballs.

Because it doesn't suck. It's an absolutely hilarious film which spoofs anything and everything. Oh, and it has Michael Winslow in it.

I'm not the best person to be asking this because I watch a ton of b movies. I watch so many b movies sometimes I forget what a high budget film is like.

Poultrygeist is a great movie. I suggest that one. It's a film by Loyd Kaufman. It's a satire on the fast food industry. Very funny.

Here is a music video for the movie.  G rated

*If you do watch the movie be warned it has massive old fashion gore, tons of nudity and things like explosive diarreah, humor, and can be offensive to many different types of personalities but it's harmless fun.Posted Image

Hedwig and The Angry Inch.

Excellent screenplay and storyline, fantastic acting, writing, musical score. It's pure genius. It's a MUST-SEE, especially if you enjoyed The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

High Fidelity.

Great story, great screenplay, great acting. I can watch it over and over and never get bored.

Fight Club

For similar reasons.

These are the three films I wish I had written and/or starred in.

Eden Log was interesting.  Sunshine was good.

Alien Raiders
Hot Tub Time Machine- good in it's own way.
Diary of the Dead
Ghosts of Mars
The Thing
Toxic Avenger
Life Force- This film is like the best sci fi movie ever made.  It's about space vampires.  What a great movie.

@Isabelle:

Yeah, it was pretty screwed. I was actually expecting it to be worse than it was (in terms of torture etc) I throughly enjoyed the SAW films, though I can't handle the Hostel films at all. I had to turn them off because I found them too disturbing. Bizarre.

@Gemma Yeah....I was warned it was all grind house and if you actually think about it there was no blood or gore *spoiler* cause she didn't really do it *spoiler*. I only really liked the first Saw because of the ending....so messed up.

Memento

Dinner Rush - great twist ending

Lots of others. I posted these two because perhaps not too many people have seen them or heard of them.
