So, I'm on my first full playthrough after the Xbox patch came out and I'm playing on my imported renegade character from the first game.  I'm 90% sure that I did take the renegade path with Conrad and so far, when I first got to Illium, he's nowhere to be found.  I'm not sure if the patch had addressed this issue or not, but on my other playthroughs I'd been on, I had taken the paragon route and he showed up anyway due to the bug that was present at launch.  Anybody know anything about this?

if you took the renegade path in me1 with conrad, he will not be there in me2. he ends up getting himself killed in the first one.

"Regardless of Shepard's choices in the first game (due to a save file
import bug), he remembers Shepard putting a gun in his face, even though
doing so caused him to renounce the Commander as his hero."

That's exactly what I did.  Why wouldn't he show up then?

Doesn't matter. there is  A BIT chance, of him appearing back in ME2, because you were mean to him.

I tried with over 8 save files. In most he appears, but in some he does not, in the ones he does not, there is no real proof, or indicatio as to why.

I did my renegade gun to the face.... he appeared. I had a game almost exactly as the one mentioned before, but only different is wrex died... and he apparently died....

So Most of the time, HE will appear in ME2,,, but some times it just weird.

I doubt Bioware knows what causes it either, so they just dont pay attention to it anymore, so no real way to find out what it is.

If you tell him to go away before the gun in face, he'll pick a fight with some Turians and die.

if you listen to the news vids in me1, you'll hear about conrad messing around and getting himself killed. i dont think there are subtitles to it though so you have to listen carefully

Maybe I did tell him to go away before the last bit of it, I don't remember since did the playthrough 6+ months ago.  Also, I've heard the news report in ME1 about him dieing before, but I remember reading that he can still appear regardless.  Anyway, thanks for the responses guys!  I'll just make sure that I keep him alive from now on so I can shoot him in the foot in ME2

If I remember correctly in mass effect there was 3 to 4 conversations with Conrad Verner. All those should be pursued to have him in me2. However, there was the option to terminate the dialogue earlier and in a renegade sort of way, by telling him to get lost and that option should get him killed.

From the wiki:

"If Shepard tells him to get lost, Conrad will march off, determined to prove he too can represent humanity, after which he will not be seen again. An elevator announcement later explains his absence: Conrad picks a fight with a group of turians and is killed as a result."

I ALWAYS take the Renegade path in ME1, but never gotten him killed. The first 2 times you have to take Paragon to get to the third where you shove a gun in his face. In ME2 he is in the Ilium Eternity bar, again do not take neutral nor renegade responses to finish the quest.
