GI: new elf/dwarf look? The cake is a lie.

"The cake is a lie" What does this have to do with anything?

I'm guessing the poster is referring to the fact that the thread title seems to promise a look at the new elf/ dwarf designs.

The Dwarves I hope will remain mostly the same.

For the elves? I'm hoping for extinction. That'd be a good change.

It would be strange if they changed either too much, though it would be interesting. I can understand the Qunari, but if they change the dwarves drastically, why show Varric as almost normal? He is obviously clean cut, rich, he has jewelry.. A king? Anyway, looking forward to new pictures.

I'm wondering if they could animate the elve's ears during cut scenes to be more expressive. They could droop down when they are sad or perk up when they are excited, like a dog or cat. I think that would be adorable.

I'm not expecting a huge change overall for either elves or dwarves though. I'm thinking they will probalby try to make their wardrobes and tattoos more culturally distinct rather than make any drastic changes to their anatomy.

I'm hoping for a better difference between city elves and Dalish elves. Since Dalish live off of nature and what-not, it'd be cool to see them wear clothes and armor that are more appropriate for that lifestyle, instead of generic clothes and not so different looking leather armor (minus the sports-bra/short skirt armor... probably the only unique thing the Dalish had in DA:O... I guess).

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Qunari supposed to be a people who follow a philosophy and not a "race". I thought Qunari were the people of the Qun, sort of like how not all Muslims are Arab? Codex lore says the Qun has had many willing converts. Just a thought. Then there's also the Tal Vashoth

Can we ever go back to the Tolkein Elves who are taller than the average human and of almost ethereal beauty?

Yes

I highly doubt it will matter. As has been pointed out, there is no reason for dwarves or elves to be involved in Hawkes story. They next story takes place in human lands. There would be no need for elves or dwarves to be there, and since you can't play as one and their lands are far away (this has been pointed out numerous times by posters)...

The proposed new look of elves and dwarves is moot.

I actually would like to see the elves more thin, lengthy, and whispy.

More delicate looking.

Maybe even alien-ish?

Dwarves...uh..ionno. I don't care. As long as their arms arent so damn long.

Maybe more tattoos.

I'd prefer to see elves with more meat, too scrawny in DAO.

make the elves taller!!!

God no

dwarves should be a lil taller and stocky

No, their arms should be shortened and thats it.

but i think they should make dwarven women attractive...i think of them as midgets in DAO....kinda freaky, they can stay short, but like 5'2 short.

The dwarven women were attractive and hate to break it to you but they're meant to be small, thats what makes dwarves dwarves.

^^^ Looks like a human to me. Nothing to distinguish her as an Elf.

In the Bioware blog they have a few concept designs for the races, a male and female example. Only the Qunari have really changed. The elves are a bit taller and have more of the swimmers body look and dwarves still have cool beards and are short. Nothing major.

Bioware BLog... great... a news section with da2 relevant links on the DA Rise To Power
homepage may not be 'by any means nessecary' - it would help a great deal though...

;)
