I have the same problem as you. I've bought a new PC with Windows 7. And I bought the Neverwinter Nights Diamond PC game. Ive installed the game but it wont play due to compatibility issues with Windows 7. I have downloaded de 1.69 patch, and installed it like ive read online...the first screen runs, but after I click on Play the neverwinter nights logo comes on and then the program closes itself.
Ive written to Bioware in order to ask them if there is anything else that can be done besides intalling the 1.69 patch (latest update available online) but I havent heard back from them."
I've came across this five month old quote earlier, and I've noted that I have the same exact problem as this person does.
Help would be most appreciated, since I'm kind of angry.
Here is my system:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i7 processor 930
ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB
1.5TB Hard Drive
9GB DDR3 Memory
Blu-ray ROM drive + DVD-Super Multi drive
Multi-in-One Media Card Reader
I'm suspecting it has some sort of issue with my hardware, considering I've tried the compatability solution to no avail, but there is possible room for error in my attempts to set the compatability, maybe the administrative settings, I'm not sure, but I cannot seem to find any solution to this problem.

I am interested in a solution for my new computer also. It runs Windows 7.
The message reads:
"Program blocked is due to compatibility issues."
It gives me the option to check for solutions online from the Microsoft site, but of course nothing is found. It also reads "NWN has known compatibility issues with this version of windows." (which is 7)

After further screwing around it seems that nobody supports this game AT ALL as there is not mention of it anywhere except as a LEGACY game and you can't even message the creators a question for some help.....is this the way all EA/Bioware games will go?

patch links are here. The legacy Bioware site has been closed for months so you will need to rely on these forums to find anything.Big_Sparhawk wrote...

Have you already tried to enter in debug mode and lunch it from there? Maybe it can simply be a driver (Vga or what else) issue... if the machine is a pre-assembled one, in the 80% of the cases that's the cause.
