Okay so I'm a two handed warrior in the haven temple and every ****ing mage there casts this stupid misdirection hex, not only that but since there are more often more than one mage if I'm lucky enough that it wears off before the end of the battle the other mage casts it or the mage who casts it on me puts it on again because he stun locks my character with cone of the gold the first ice spell. Not to mention cleanse aura doesn't get rid of hexes so what do I do about this bull ****.

have a templar with cleanse area or a mage with whatever the hell it is to doispel the effects of it,

NOTE: cleanse area does NOT work on yourself

You can also focus on using abilities that always land, like scattershot, warcry, and pommel strike. It's not much. Mainly, try to keep mages from casting it by keeping them locked down until they're dead.

You could also let someone else lead. If you have a ranger let the pet "lead" and it will soak up the hexes, crushing prisons, etc. It's trickier to have a mage lead but it can work as staff attacks and spells are not affected by misdirection.

I'm working on a Dual Wield Warrior Solo Run, and I've found that Talents seem to be exempt from Misdirection Hex. It may just be my higher Attack Rating, but if I pop a Talent instead of Auto-Attacking, I seem to hit with no problems.

It's your criticals that are doing it.  They become normal hits under misdirection but hits nonetheless.  So a solo rogue, for instance, can negate much of the hex with precise striking.

I don't even have Precise Striking. The Talents in question are Riposte, Dual-Weapon Sweep, and Flurry.

That was just a for instance. DW warrior talents can do criticals, too.

Use your Rogue to cap the mages before they can cast it. Stealth up to the mage and back-stabbity-stabbity-stabbity. Dead mage. At the very worst, a distracted mage.

Immune to magic, no.  High mental resistance, yes (mental fortress talent).  Dwarf templar = useful in lots of situations.

Like Soteria said you can make yourself immune to magic.

But that is really mid-late game strategy. You could give Alistar the Cleanse Aura talent. I think he only needs one more Templar talent to get it. The key is to lead with someone other then your templar, since you can not Cleanse Aura yourself. You also have to be right on top of someone to remove all the spell effects with a Cleanse Aura. Or you could have two Templars.

Or just have your Mage get Mana Clash to kill all the mages right off the bat. Fun at first, but I think that is kind of boring.

A much more interesting option is to send your team straight at a mage. A straight Warrior charge, or a Rogue that opens with a Backstab, then Riptose/Dirty Fighting.

The last tactic is not very manly - but it works. Run your sorry butt all over the field of battle and lead all the monsters on a grand chase. The rest of your party will attack the monsters chasing you. Or if you are a Rogue just Stealth and hide. Exploit that terrible AI.

If you use the Knight-Commander's Plate (bought from Faryn in the Frostback Mountains), and the Spellward, you can get 70% Spell Resistance. Add in the Key to the City for a grand total of 74% (84% for a Dwarven Warden). It's actually quite easy to make up the last 16-26% with Runes.

This is, of course, only possible with a Templar; the Knight-Commander's Plate is Templar-Only.

Mage's can also get 100% Spell Resist: equip The Spellward, then turn on Spell Shield. Spell Shield gives an instant +75% Spell Resistance, and you can turn it off when you're not up against a Mage.

Keep swinging, and use those Auto-crit Talents. Make them believe you just don't care; sweetest revenge....

Misdirection Hex, Curse of Mortality, Crushing Prison, Fireball, and Chain Lightning are by far the most deadly and annoying arsenal of spells that a single mage can carry. You got all of those, and you got yourself someone who can take legions of soldiers as well as monsters down, given a proper tank.
