Custom Appearence Bethany

I've seen that we will be able to customize Hawke, I'm wonderig if since Bethany is not only a companion, but is Hawke's sister will we be able to customise her appearence to an extent as well? I'd hate to have to spend a bunch of time in the toolset making an assortment of morphs for her. I probably will if I need to, but it would be so much easier to just set her appearence at the start of the game.

I would gladly except just a change in skin tone to match family members.

And besides, she could be your half-sister or maybe you were adopted or maybe she was

As Alexia89 mentioned, it's been done before, in FO 3. They could do this for the family member on any of the systems. Mods are for when you want a character that has blue skin and pink hair.

Bethany is fine as she is... well, except for the plastic hair.

Speaking of her hair, is it me or is her hair purple?

Yes, in the picture where you see her face she has purple hair, but in any other picture her hair is brown.. I don't know why...maybe those colors are not definitive? Or that purple colour is a reflex she has on her hair for some reason ?
On topic: My answer is no. I don't wanna customize her.

This is all assuming you two are even related by blood. It wouldn't surprise me at all if she were a step sister or half sister.

I wouldn't necessarily mind it if her skin tone changed but I don't think it's necessary. If I play a black character and she's white, for example, it won't bother me that much. Believe it or not, that can really happen. I'm pretty sure it's rather rare, but sometimes, say, a black couple can give birth to a white child and vice-versa.
Besides that, we are unsure of the Hawkes' parentage. If we never see them, how do we know they're both white? Perhaps you're adopted. Maybe Bethany is adopted. Who knows?

I mentioned PC Mods in the first post of the thread (I got the PC version of DA:O specifially for the mods and the toolset), but that doesn't really help people on the consoles. Morphs are also kind of a hassle to do, so much tweaking...
You're right though, she may not be a blood related sister or just a half sister, I have someone I was raised with that I consider a sister and we're not related at all (psuedo-adoption, parents in relationship). If that's the case maybe she should have default appearence, but if she is blood related it would be nice to customize her a bit.

Albininsm isn't all that uncommon, 1 in 20,000 I think, but a black couple giving birth to an albino child isn't exactly the same thing as giving birth to a "white child", it also doesn't really work the other way around. I'm pretty certain there is no genetic condition that causes far more dark pigmentation in the skin than normal, if there is one it's incredibly rare.

He wasn't talking about albinism. Occasionally, black parents can have white children. We actually had a speaker at my school when I was in high school who was one of the whitest guys I've ever seen, yet he had black parents.ClonePatrol wrote...

That said, my hope is that Bioware goes with the half-sister approach, and that there's therefore no need to change Bethany's appearance.
