We've got a small but decent little community of role-players, and as it grows we find ourselves needing more storytellers. Our setting is a combination of Forgotten Realms and Planescape. If you are interested, give the world a try as a player to get a feel for it, then PM Jen on our forums.

Ummm... I was interested and was going to check it out (As a player, too) But when looking upon the froums it said, "DMs are by INVITE ONLY. We do not entertain requests by players asking to become a DM." Kinda discouraged me as a DM to try, but I might still check it out as a player. Just saying its weird to have that up and a request for DMs here. :/

We like to get to know you first as a player and see that you know how to work with a plot and have creative rp, etc, before approaching someone. But we are in need of DMs, so someone that is interested can join as a player and grab our attention with some good roleplay.

Changed our policy a bit on DMs.
------------------------------------------------------------
We are accepting applications for Amateur DMs, to allow an apprenticeship trial period for possible DMs. This works as a way to both evaluation someone's skills and personality (to see if they work well with the team) while at the same time trying to teach and help them to better fit the position.
What we are looking for in DMs and ADMs:
- Common sense and emotional stability
- Fairness and good judgment
- Time invested into being a part of the WSI server/world
- Storytelling and role-play ability and flexibility (able to play multiple roles and able to follow plot threads)
- An understanding of the larger picture of the world, with regard to our overall campaign vision
Amateur DMs have many restrictions, from what kind of events you can run to what kind of rewards you may give out. They are storytellers only, and may not punish players for OOC actions. Other DMs will assist with training for both the NWN client and in how to manage plots and events, and offer opportunities to allow the trainee to sit in on an event or to help out.
Keep in mind that this position is on a temporary basis. Not everyone that takes on a DM apprenticeship will be given a full DM status and remain on the team, though of course that is out goal. Please do not apply if you have emotional connections to the game that would cause you issues with being denied or demoted, because we don't wish to cause anyone any stress over a game which should be fun.
If you're interested in trying this out, send us a PM to let us know. Below are a few good questions to help us know about your goals and qualifications, but feel free to add your own input.
Application Form:
Gamespy Accounts and Character Names:
Real Name (if comfortable):
Age:
Location/Timezone:
How long you've played NWN & WSI:
How many hours you hope to DM per week:
Why you want to DM:
What you think a DM's role is on WSI:
What would you need to work on most as a DM:
Account of experience in the DM Client and/or Toolset:
Background and general experience in roleplay (other servers, DMing, PnP, MUD, etc):
Sample event or plot you'd like to run:
