at cg cd project talked about witcher2: 3 different beginnings (depends on your imported save), 16 different endings, 150 minutes of cutscenes, more than 30 different armor types, level interaction (jumping and climbing). later they showed the game in action with all the stuff they talked about integrated... holy crap. it will be a success^^

oh, and bioware also showed an actual pc version of da2: graphics is more or less the same as in the screenshots, no better textures. also their animation features (your char will use different animation settings depending on you skills) was not working correctly. and there was no isometric camera, just a free flying one near the heads of your chars.

well, i'll spend my money in geralt :D

I could do without Arkham Asylum's detective mode in The Witcher. Pretty brazen of Cd Projekt if you ask me.

I think that has win and cool and it is not that must of a OOCness but I do not want something like that in my DA 2 although they are both rpgs The Witcher 2 can do this because of the potion and the more action orientated setting. By the way the game looks amazing.

I'll spend my money on both! It pays off to be more open minded, lots of great games to play...

It does but it seems combat still needs some work and facial expressions are pretty much nonexistent (yet).

Although I agree that The Witcher 2 looks a lot better now, it is still to early to judge. The Witcher 2 is probably almost finish and besides DA 2 is not about graphics is about story ans customization and I like to have the option to play has female so to me DA is still the superior franchising but I will be buying the two for sure if they are good :D

I thought Cat potion gave you enhanced vision in darkness, not x-ray vision. Geralt isn't Superman. I didn't like this feature in AA either - it's just short of cheating. I have half a mind to raise a little hell on CD Projekt's site for making this decision, but I'd probably get mowed down in short order with rebuttals...never mind, I probably will anyways.

I haven't seen gameplay of DA2 yet, but I'm one of the few who likes the new look. You don't need cutting edge graphics or ultra realism to have a good looking game.

All I've seen of TW2 is shaky cam from audience. It looks good enough, but honestly, animations are a little stilted. Lip sinking needs work too.

Environments are incredible though. The one with the demon made of armor pieces is amazing.

Ugh, I lost my end-game saves of the Witcher when I had to wipe my HDD. Hopefully a site with end-game Witcher saves will pop up somewhere, or I'll have to replay the game thrice.

That should only take about 160 hrs or so.

The facial expressions where bad it kinda look like the first really but the graphics still look amazing. Something that I would like too see in DA 2 are the expression well done because I really do not want the graphics to be amazing so that the conversion have a blank stare.

yep, that's true. blizz always impresses me with what they can create out of a few polys and superb textures. their art design in diablo3 is amazing. i would kill for an inifinty game port to that engine. it looks like art from a fairy tales book :D

also obsidian did a great job with their inhouse onyx engine. dungeon siege 3 looks stunning!

Well, TW2 graphics are just a cherry on top - it was made with story/plot and characters in mind, the graphics are "side effect" of making a new engine :) it was built primarily to handle non linearity and interaction plus huge enviro...damn I'm so excited right now.

Cat potion and the highlighting - it represents the sounds the body makes, you even see vital internal organs on enemies! Its your enchanced senses that allow you to percive like that. But I dont like the blue stroke around guards - I like the hud minimal with game corresponding visuals. Just my preferance, no big thing though.

I suppose the voice acting will be above average this time (english I mean).

Both games are on my list, but for personal reasons I'm more looking foward to TW2 than DA2. We'll see how it turns out in early 2011 :)

Geralt face and scarred body looks amazing!!!

And its still early alpha I think O_O so...what will they put in next?

Not even, im finding my 2nd play through to move alot faster then the first (which toom me 71 hours to do).

Time well wasted.

Vir, im not sure that website will appear cause of all the different versions of The Witcher and no one knew ahead of time that saves would get transfered over (unlike the ME series which told us day 1)

yup, at this point in time my 3 games to buy at full price in spring of 2011 are:

1) The Witcher 2
2) Deus Ex  3
3) The Old Republic

As it sounds, Dragon Age 2 will get picked up on Steam after the fact for $10.00 or so. However, if they keep pushing combat and action like they been doing, I might opt out completely and just not buy title! Course on flip side, if they finally start showing something about story and immersion (I got a good laugh at person saying DA2 about Story. What story? all they shown is copmbat combat combat and dumbed down dialog wheel), DA2 might move back up list. Based on ME2, its doubtful but it might happen.

*sighs* I cant wait for Q1 of 2011.

I just saw gameplay of the new boxing minigame. Although certainly not a highlight of the first Witcher, now it appears to be reduced to a series of quick time events...yes quick time events. Jesus. My left eye is starting to twitch.

Why do some devs bother with this kind of trivial stuff? I only boxed for money in the first game, and didn't gamble at all.

Was that quicktime or a warning as the flaming sword icon in 1? There wining in boxing was about striking at the correct movement from the oponent, and the poses for hitting was more or less the same.

If I understood correctly, the way to resolve some quest is different depending of what you did in TW1. cough ME2 cough

That was Cat? Is more like other potion from1 that highlighted enemies but normal lightning went out. At least in this one it will have some use.

Boxing was atrocious in TW1, and I see no point in trying to polish a turd. Sorry if I offend. Obviously I feel strongly about pointless minigames, and developer's obsession with including them.

You are really friendly I see if you do not like DA2 is really not my fault, is kinda difficult to get a gasp of the story yes but what I was trying to say is that the DA franchising should be more about the story and characters and not so must about the graphics and now we know more about the dialogue too and like I said I am probably going to buy the two so win-win for me.

No Waist Fence issue, good.
No censorship here, but couldn´t they have used an example that didn´t involve torture? It is more realistic than the Leliana DLC, but...Well, at least Geralt arrives on time.

. Not on my watch. Never played evil characters or who allowed it.

On the other side good to know they aren´t pulling punches, let´s see how many I can avoid.

Yes because Witcher 2 has no action and a paraphrased answers dialog system...
