Nope, just pointing out which one will be king of the hill. I'm going to buy all 3 myself.

This is true. If there is any 'king of the hill' from a sales standpoint, it's Blizzard. I don't care how many people badmouth the Diablo games, they had an enormous impact on the genre.
I'll probably be buying all 3 as well

I personaly loathe hack n slash games. I find them boring, repetative and with barely a story

Look into Divine Divinity. It's Diablo with a soul.

Yup, same here. The voice acting and setting (I have the enhanced version) was awesome (really REALLY loved that first run down castle you start off in), but the combat was just terrible. Hmm, now that I have finished my DA:O playthrough, I think I will give it another shot.EEmotion wrote...

Diablo looks very similar to Torchlight...the DA franchise has a lot more story and lore going for it than those two combined
(My meaningful and deep The Good, The Bad and The Ugly reprise).
There are two kinds of people my friend. Those who play games for only one of its aspect or those play games.
You do it for lore. I do it for lore and gameplay. So I distribute points in both. I thought that the gameplay in DA:O was broken and crap. Lore was excellent though. But that's MY personal opinion.

Combat gets more interesting later in the game once you have leveled up and have powerful signs to compliment sword strikes.
Unfortunately, it takes much longer than two hours to really experience anything The Witcher has to offer. Whereas DA gets off to a running start, the Witcher simmers for several hours then things take off when you get into Vizima.
Still, combat is admittedly not the strong point of the game. Thats why they're totally changing it for the sequel.

The way to go for Witcher is to level up AArd pretty quickly. It makes you nearly invinsible earlier on and makes combat interesting later. **Even at hardest difficulty.**

One very good RPG that's better than most BioWare games (except KOTOR and ME2). CD Projekt RED are a much smaller studio and made their first game in 2007, while BioWare made their first RPG in 1998Pedrak wrote...

I wouldn't go that far.CD Projekt made one very good CRPG. BioWare made, how many? 7-8, not counting the expansions? I agree that TW was a promising start and that TW2 is looking great, but hey, only time will tell if they'll be able to achieve what Bio has achieved.

I've just got into Vizima now and I can say hands down this game has the potential to be the best RPG I've ever played!

Anyway, if CD Projekt Red will become a serious competitor for Bioware... oh boy, it can be a true rebirth for cRPGs. Nothing better for evolution than good rivalry.
I'm not a big fan of TW1 but I must admit - they definitely have potential and a lot of new ideas.

And to the ones bashing Diablo 3, based on everything I know of it, it's going to have a much stronger focus on story and characters than the predecessors had, and discounting that it's still a very unorthodox fantasy setting which is something worth supporting.

Yes but i sincerely hope that D3 won`t be a huge disappointment like sc2 was. You just cant add 4 more pixels per unit and call it a new game worthy of 2010.Wyndham711 wrote...
No doubt a great year coming for PC RPG-fans. Huge titles like Dragon Age 2, Witcher 2, Guild Wars 2, The Old Republic and Diablo 3 (possibly/probably). In addition there are some smaller, more uncertain titles like Torchlight 2, Dungeon Siege 3 and the new Neverwinter game.
And to the ones bashing Diablo 3, based on everything I know of it, it's going to have a much stronger focus on story and characters than the predecessors had, and discounting that it's still a very unorthodox fantasy setting which is something worth supporting.

Are you sure that's what all they did? Or its just a "I hate the game hence its bad" campaign like I do?

Maybe, if ArenaNet can deliver what they are promising. Plus they have the added pressure of being an online game and all the potential nightmares that go along with that. Diablo III's Achilles heel is how die hard fans of the series will react. I don't see that being a major issue though.
