With the VS being constantly ignored it does not give me much hope for them in ME3 despite the claims that they will have a major role in ME3. I am losing faith pretty fast Image IPB

sadly I have to agree as well. Not looking good at all (and I even tried not to get my hopes up)

doesn't bug me actually. I mean, Liara DLC is just the next DLC to be announced, none of us knows what comes after it. I go with the earlier mentioned "we're overreacting" statement and retire to my bunk. Needless to say that we can't change anything about ME1 and ME2 anyway and this is just a poll by someone asking a question about what t-shirt you would pick. It's not like they showed us 15 designs and asked us to pick one because they will put the one with the most votes up for sale.

People are just voting for their favorite character. C'mon now, I doubt any Tali fans would actually wear a Tali t-shirt. Jack is my favorite character, but I would never wear any article of clothing with her on it. I'd like a t-shirt with Grunt or Legion on it though, maybe even TIM.

well, yes, and ...not quite.

i think the problem is that
  • this is an Official poll
  • kasumi dlc had nothing to say about the VS, but did about liara and every other LI in ME2
  • liara DLC was clearly anticipated, given hidden voice files, while the VS (virmire survivor - ash/kaidan) - no word about dlc or ME3 role other than some press-release teasers when ME2 was released
  • VS horizon moment was kind of a slammed door, while you could go back and see liara
  • VS will be harder to voice for/make a squaddie because of the "1 for the price of 2" issue: you get 1 character in the game, but must have 2 VAs models, etc. to do that; makes many of us worry about more cameos and complete sidelining of the characters
  • the fact that some reviews accused me2 of being too me1-referential make some worry that the VS (who was very me1 referential) will be cut back so as not to confuse new-comers
  • liara was in the comics, VS just sort of dropped off the map after...well, me1
i may be forgetting some, but those are the ones that spring to mind...

i think the point many kaidan/ash fans are feeling is this:

Given that these little moments of the VS being overlook and, dare i say, forgotten, keep adding up, it makes one wonder if the writers/devs have just overlooked them altogether.

It's not any one thing, it's the continuing silence about the VS and the cumulation of seeming to disown the VS

as for wrex - dunno about that one. that's just odd he wasn't there, since he was so popular in me1 and IS in me2.

If Bioware required that we pay for a t-shirt before they put Ashley and Kaidan in ME3 as a squadmate, I'd bet some of us fans would do so.  But we're being given the message that our money isn't good here, and even if we WANT to throw money at them, Bioware doesn't want to take it, if it means giving Kaidan and Ashley fans hope for their future.

Lets not forget the use of the phrase   "What on the Horizon, other than collectors"  announceing DLC that surprise , surprise had nothing to do with Ash and Kaidan or Horizon.   Yea, thanks for that bioware.   : )

Yes, this is about the character t-shirt poll created by a BioWare employee.

While, I'm appreciative of the thought put into this poll, I just wonder why some favorite Mass Effect characters were not included in this poll, like...Ashley, Kaidan, and Wrex.

The poll title is, 'BIOWARE OFFICIAL - IF YOU HAD TO WEAR YOUR FAVORITE ME CHARACTER...' and I'm aware that it then goes on to specify 'Mass Effect 2 characters', but last time I checked, these characters were in Mass Effect 2, if only for a short time.

Liara also had a smaller role in ME2, compared to ME1, but she was included in the poll, while these others were not...

What gives?

I want an Ashley Williams t-shirt too

I know, I want wrex................and blasto!!!

A Blasto shirt would own all other shirts.    This One is a cotton/polyester blend.

ME2 was accused of being 'too ME1 referential'? You have got to be kidding me..I didn't think it was referential enough.

It's not about the t-shirts.

Not at all...I don't care...I wouldn't buy one anyway, regardless of who's on it.

I just find it troubling that certain characters weren't included in this poll, including, my second favorite Mass Effect character ever.  Now I worry that said character will get another crappy cameo in ME3 :(

While I am not too happy to see that Wrex, Ashley and Kaidan were excluded from the poll, I am also not too worried. Yes, this is an "official" poll from a BioWare employee, but beyond that, it's nothing. If anything, it's more like a casual poll just to get an "update" on the fans' current whereabouts. Developers do this; it's part of the job. And this is just one way to do it.

As far as the Virmire Survivor goes, I know we will see them in ME3. I know it. Not only that, but we will see them in a way that defies their roles in both ME1 and 2. They will more or less serve as Shepard's right hand, especially if they were the original love interest and were not ditched for someone else in ME2. I can already see it. And I'm not the type who gets kicked in the face by some random poll that really says nothing of significance.

Also, I can assure each one of you that this thread has been visited by BioWare personnel, but the reason they never bothered to say anything is because there IS nothing to say.

And just for the record, I'm not a hater, troll, or anything. I'm an Ash-lover; I love her more than any other woman in the ME universe. I'm merely saying that this is totally not worth the trouble.

Their fan favorites, particularly from ME2. They already had a lot of people on that poll anyway. What do you want them to do? Add Corporal Jenkins too?

So your comparing  Kaidan and Ash to a charater that got killed off in the first few minutes of the game? The point is that Ash and Kaidan are just as popular as the others on that poll but seem to be ignored. Sage said everything when it came to the VS, they have been ignored and sidelined and thats unfair to us who like these charaters. Im sure you'd be up in arms if Tail and Garrus were just sidelined like Ash and Kaidan are. Ash and Kaidan got the short end of the stick in ME2, and with only the hope of something more in ME3 we've been left with very little

I would have rather bought a T-shirt featuring Jenkins than Ashley or Kaiden... However, where is my Wrex option?
