doesn't bug me actually. I mean, Liara DLC is just the next DLC to be announced, none of us knows what comes after it. I go with the earlier mentioned "we're overreacting" statement and retire to my bunk. Needless to say that we can't change anything about ME1 and ME2 anyway and this is just a poll by someone asking a question about what t-shirt you would pick. It's not like they showed us 15 designs and asked us to pick one because they will put the one with the most votes up for sale.
well, yes, and ...not quite.
i think the problem is that
- this is an Official poll
- kasumi dlc had nothing to say about the VS, but did about liara and every other LI in ME2
- liara DLC was clearly anticipated, given hidden voice files, while the VS (virmire survivor - ash/kaidan) - no word about dlc or ME3 role other than some press-release teasers when ME2 was released
- VS horizon moment was kind of a slammed door, while you could go back and see liara
- VS will be harder to voice for/make a squaddie because of the "1 for the price of 2" issue: you get 1 character in the game, but must have 2 VAs models, etc. to do that; makes many of us worry about more cameos and complete sidelining of the characters
- the fact that some reviews accused me2 of being too me1-referential make some worry that the VS (who was very me1 referential) will be cut back so as not to confuse new-comers
- liara was in the comics, VS just sort of dropped off the map after...well, me1
i may be forgetting some, but those are the ones that spring to mind...
i think the point many kaidan/ash fans are feeling is this:
Given that these little moments of the VS being overlook and, dare i say, forgotten, keep adding up, it makes one wonder if the writers/devs have just overlooked them altogether.
It's not any one thing, it's the continuing silence about the VS and the cumulation of seeming to disown the VS
as for wrex - dunno about that one. that's just odd he wasn't there, since he was so popular in me1 and IS in me2.
