The Couslands

Concept

A Postmodern serial drama in the the spirit of such works as: Lost, The Sopranos, Rome and the Tudors. The story covers the life of Ansel Cousland. A legendary figure who in private suffers from just a touch of post-traumatic stress.

The Series actively makes use of one of the main tropes from the TV series, Smallville. “It's not about
the ending. It's about the journey...”, Lex Luthor

Some of the notable themes explored in
the series are:

[*]The Protagonists psychological and moral reasoning for “betraying” Alistair at the Landsmeet, as
well as other decisions made a long the way.

[*]The details of how the new royal line, that of the “Mac Tirian” Couslands came to be established.

[*]How Ansel, a child of privilege, nobility and respectability, happened to be trained in the days of
his youth in the somewhat unlikely profession of “Scout Infiltrator”. Numerous flashbacks of the hero's early life with his family are also included.

  • Flashbacks of what actually transpired during the time of the Blight and Civil War.

More, please! I've always wondered what Anora was like under more normal circumstances.

I like it. I've never seen the Ashes used for something like that before but it would certainly be one way to work around the fact that Cailan and Anora presumably slept together for the good of the nation and yet never conceived. Well, besides Cailan being infertile which is the route I've seen some stories go. I liked Ansel calling her out about calling him 'Warden' as that would have to get annoying after awhile.

Also, am I sensing a pending breakup with Leliana? He was talking with Anora about not just wanting power and added Leliana to his mental list of 'youthful indiscretions' while also being described as 'unusually quiet' when she was being all couple-y in the first scene and he just seemed distant from her. Not to mention that he seems to just outright ignore everything she says that implies that they're more than friends.

Thanks I actually had to really work to try to get some characterization that seemed acurate according to what you see in game.

My profile of her from the Myers Briggs Personality is a kind of "ISTJ"

www.personality-power-for-everyday-living.com/ISTJ.html

She however seems to be raised to be the ruler of the land and tend to want to project intelligence, sophistication, culture, dignity wherever possible.   So she is much much more verbose then any real life person that would have this personality type (Who are pretty straightforward and simple in everyday conversation).

(Husband posting)

This was written as just a bit of fun (albeit with a little social commentary at the end) and not part of the regular series or campaign universe.    There is no desire or attempt to be "canonical".    I included it here because it does have a cameo of the series protagonist.

(I'm putting this out sooner than I normally would because I'm worried Witch hunt tweaking my obessive tendencies to rethink, rewrite, retro con etc. existing plot lines)
