Bonus on healing effects does not work

My tank wears several items that are supposed to grant a bonus to healing effects. I just found another one and wanted to do some testing before i equip even more of those.

Apparently the bonus on healing effects does not work at all. I healed my tank several times in a row, while putting away another '+healing effects' item after each attempt. The displayed number of health healed never changed at all.

Is this just me or are those items just broken and i spend a real lot of money on the wrong items (beside of wearing useless items for a good half of the game).

BTW: I am not sure how the bonus is phrased in the english version. I just translated it from the german version. Could as well be just a translation error and those items are supposed to do something entriely different. Would not be the first time. ;)

I'm not far enough into the game to test it myself. If it is a bug, hopefully Bioware will hear about it.

BAH!

If this is actually the case it needs to be fixed. + to received heals gear is great for tanks; mine is wearing +35 total. Going to go test this now...

I will test it too later on tonight when i can play some more. If this is another of those simple bugs it will start to annoy me a bit. The daggers felt like such a ridiculous bug that should clearly not have made it into the final version of the game, and if this indeed is true the same goes for this one.

It might be that it won't show if you're maximum health?  (as in: if you are maximum health, then base healing only occurs and the bonus doesnt show)

Be sure to view the actual bar in addition to the number that rolls by. It *may* just be a display bug in the numbers that roll, and actually be healing the correct amount. It is best not to assume too much when bug hunting. :-) Let the evidence speak for itself. (I've been a tester for years)

Tested and confirmed.

Wynne (40 Magic) is healing Alistair for 54 per heal (seems way low...) with no + healing gear. Adding +35 to Alistair's + to received heals does not change this value.

I worked as a tester as well. Unfortunately it is more than just a display bug. I did some more testing and i am getting exactly +55 (as displayed in green letters, on my g15 lcd and in the mouseover details for my tank) with and without my +60 equipment.

The healing bonus is completly broken. With the PC version being more or less done since march i just can't see how this could possibly still be unadressed.

I've put around 50 hours into the game and i am still on my first playthrough. As of yet i really love the game, but this is very disappointing. I consider it a rather obvious bug, if one of the most important tank stats does not work at all.

Maybe it only works with potions?

It is really great to see devs responding to possible bugs so fast! Lots of cudos to those of you that take your time on the forums. Less cudos to those who should have noticed these bugs prior to release however..

Its a shame, then, that we are one and the same.... So do your congradulations and condemnations cancel each other out? :)

In all honesty, not really.. :)

I dont know how many of these things that actually will turn out to be complete failures of pre-launch testing, but to me it would feel like one major miss could be canceled out by swift responses from devs. But now we have the daggers, the +healing, and i noticed the lifeward seems to be buggy for some people, and this is just a week after release. It's a bit too much to be honest, and for us console players i guess they are flaws we will have to live with for a good while too..

That being said i certainly appreciate how you guys are trying to handle all the problems, it has been a very positive surprise for me, although not as big a surprise as the lack of succesful pre launch testing.

This actually brings up one last question of mine. Is this issue isolated to the PC, or are people also encountering it on the console versions as well?

Hey, in my opinion you should all be sipping champaigne at work for the next few weeks.  This game is awesome and I am so relieved that my fears were unfounded.  I'm a hard-core EverQuest II player and Dragon Age IS THE SH__!

this issue is confirmed on the xbox as well.

Wynne healed the main character for 63 with no +healing equipped, and for 63 with +30 healing equipped.

I believe the +healing is currently working for potions on PC, I'm healling 100s with minor healing potions right now.

I was under the impression that the healing items already work on a percentage basis, healing you for a % of your max health. That way the lesser poultices are never useless and the greater ones are that much more potent at higher lvls.

EDIT:
I can verify that they heal different characters for different amounts, so there's some sort of variable used here that's not static from character to character. I'm assuming that it's healing them for a % of max health and that's what's providing the differences.

Magic: Magic determines a mage's spellpower which
governs a spell's effect (including damage). This is a mage's most
important attribute. A high magic score will be needed to wield certain
high-level staves and spells. For all classes, magic can increase the
effectiveness of potions, poultices, and salves.
It also contributes to
a character's mental resistance.
