So we know the Templars and the Chantry are a big part of the next game. The Templars in the first game had really cool armor in my opinion. Does anyone wonder if the Templars will receive some new fancy armor and act differently from the Templars in DA:O?

Well, they're changing the art style of the game, so it figures that the templars and the chantry in general would get an upgrade as well. At first I thought the templar armor looked stupid but the more I played the game, it started to grow on me. I do hope they play a large part in this game. Maybe as a joinable faction rather than just a specialization sub-class?

I think they'll probably get some kind of change to their appearance.
They probably have a large role in the story as the lore we have about Kirkwall says that they control the city with an iron fist (and apparently keep a very tight leash on mages).

And with the Chantry apparently going down in DA2 I expect Templars will be doing a lot of fighting to keep the populace in check.

I'm guessing the Templar armor will have more spikes....

I hope so, Templars were always one of my favorite Orders of Warriors in DA:O and their armor was awesome, although plain. It had the sword of mercy on the chestplate, but it was still plain white armor. I wasn't to thrilled about their dress like clothing from the waist down. I'm hoping for some color in their armor, maybe to signify rank, as well as different types of Templar plate similar to Knight Commander vs Templar armor sets in DA:O, but a much wider variety. Also hoping for the return of the Templar specialization, Templars are holy badasses and I loved being able to call myself such. I would really like to see some reds and whites meshed together like in the armor the Knights Templar of our world would wear, and lesser ranking Templars could wear light armor similar to that of which the common Crusader would don.
Here's my ideal Knight Commander for high ranking Tempalrs

Mostly heavy plate with some chainmail
This armor was badass, loved Knights of the Nine add-on for Oblivion, because of this

The new aesthetic for DA2 seems to deem that EVERYTHING gets spikes and horns and claws or just about any other jaggy, sharp edge you can find, good or bad guy....

Agreed - the Templars are definitely getting a makeover, but probably not a big one. They've been talking a lot about the "new art style", and we've all seen the new darkspawn.
I'm sorry, but if Templars are baddies in DA2, doesn't Hawke just have to go cut off their lyrium supply? There were plenty of hints through DAO sidequests that lyrium is the Templars' Achilles heel.
DA2 Templar Main Quest:
Templar: Rargh Hawke you gonna get raped
Hawke: *calls up King Bhelen/Harrowmont* Yo Kingy. Mind sittin' on that lyrium supply for a while?
King Bhelen: Go do this *gives sidequest to go kill some rival politicians* ok we're good.
King Harrowmont: SCREW ALL HOOMANS
Templar: *sadface*
Done.

I certainly hope not. The Templars should have a holy and sleek look to them yet...dominant and..heavy. Somewhat like a Natzi(dunno why it censored that.) or something Imperial but with a holy look to it. I guess like the Holy Roman Empire..maybe.

I actually read it here on the forums myself. There was a link but I wasn't bothered to read it and can't remember what thread it was. Sorry.
