Jeez, you'd think people had started worshipping the Warden as the Maker himself from the way people carry on about the whole new character thing. Don't get me wrong--I love my Warden, but I think my only character who deserves that kind of adulation was my Bhaalspawn. Who was...the child of a god of murder. And kind of a big f-ing deal.

I really need to show you the comic forums where people more than imply that reading comics will kickstart the next phase of human evolution.

*snigger*  Ah, yes.  Natural selection favors the behavioral phenotypes associated with and necessary for reading comics.  I love and hate the Internet :P

No, it has more to do with using your brain or something. Regardless of the fact that physiology is not connected to the brain at all.

assassination to Alistair by Anora would be shocking though! :P

Given the "brink of war" stuff, and a seeming increased focus on politics, it's already crossed my mind that Alistair (or Anora if she's the ruler) could appear just long enough to be assassinated.  I would track down and destroy that assassin.  Well, maybe less so in Anora's case.  Although she was very loyal to the Grey Wardens when I supported her.

Anyway, back on topic, I actually liked seeing that video, even though it's pretty much all stuff we know before.  I guess it's just nice to hear stuff straight from the devs' mouths.  Especially all the stuff about the game being so "reactive."  Although now I'm wondering if it's reactive in the sense of 'I make a choice, and the narrator then talks about the outcome,' (instead of waiting til the epilogue) or if it's more like 'I make a choice, and that choice actually affects the game world moving forward.'  I'm hoping for the latter, and that's what it sounds like so far, so I'm happy.

Ah yes- because all movies/books/Tv shows that use the ol' "Hey! Lets kill off a major character in the first 5 minutes for shock value!" plan always works out so well....

I have my doubts about Alistair or Anora being assassinated.  If we're in the Free Marches, what would a city-state in the Free Marches across the sea from Ferelden have to gain by assassinating a Ferelden monarch?

What indeed...To the archives!

But really, that was just something that occurred to me given the apparent political themes, and my doubt that Alistair/Anora would appear for anything beyond a cameo. And for good or ill, Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome is pretty popular. In fact, the oft-mentioned Baldur's Gate did it (not that that means anything). But again, I don't actually want this to happen.

Not that city state in particular - there is a long list though starting with the antivan crows.

I don't believe that Alistair will die in the deep roads.there must be something huge with his death.like Anora wanting whole power against an enemy which Alistair won't accept. If default is keeping Alistair and Anora together at the top of Ferelden, i can imagine there will be some kind of dark fights for the throne. Therefore, i can sense of Anora's ambition for power alone, even if it depends on Alistair death.

Am I the only one that was more interested in the map in the background. It has given a lot more away about the potential scope of the game than what they were actually saying.

Well...aside from a giant blood dragon I'm not sure what else they'd show. Thedas' map is easier on the eyes. Besides that, we already had that interactive map to play with, so again, that is even less intriguing news than the rest of it.

I have a 4870 with Catalyst 10.6 and the drivers stopped responding trying to watch the video.  I tried again and it led to a physical memory dump.  The world hates ATI :crying:.

Same with my 5770, and my dad's ATI card.  So I booted up my laptop with Ubuntu and enjoyed the video.

If PC and console will have some differences, one I would love to see in the PC is the traditional dialogue options where I can chose what to say with the hit of a number key! Leave the fraking wheel to console alone!

And why the footwear gave Leliana shoegasms.

I've been pronouncing Lothering wrong this whole time apparently.

I've been saying loh-thering. Darrah pronounced it lah-thering... huh.

aaaand that was the only new thing I learned.

Okay. Here are my thoughts on Word of God:

When every character in-universe contradicts things claimed out-of-universe, in-universe trumps them. All of the characters refer to the place as loh-thering, so that's it's name. Honestly, I think he just made a mistake (I actually don't remember how he pronounced it, so I'm taking your word for it). But you needed my two cents, didn't ya? :D
