Hey I am having a bug with my graphics. Quite annoying as it detracts from the immersion into the game. I don't know exactly how to explain it so I'll just say it all blotchy on certain parts of people's bodies and certain textures. Here is a picture.
Do you have an nVidia video card? I think this problem is caused by problems with the latest nVidia graphics drivers. If you have an nVidia video card, go here: www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx, enter in the data for your card and your operating system, then select the download for version 197.45 (not the very top one) and install it.

That is the oddest problem. Although I think I know the solution for you and I think updating your graphics drivers just caused the game to clear and re-make it's graphics cache.
Mass Effect 1 used to have an option to clear this manually but I'm assuming Mass Effect 2 should do this automatically or maybe shouldn't ever require it so they excluded the option in the second game's config program.
Wrong, there is a driver version from nVidia that on some chipsets produces this particular error. I experienced it myself. After a rollback to the previous version everything else was fine again.
I've just had the same problem and i cant begine to explain how annoying it is, i want to keep my system as up to date as possible, but in otder to play mass effect without looking at textures that would be at home on a dot matrix laser printer from the 1990's i have to use older drivers for my Graphics card!
Are they even trying to look into the cause of this or have they dissregarded it as an unimportant bug?
For hardware that isn't the latest and greatest sometimes the newest driver ISN'T the best thing for it. Unless you are installing a brand new card use what worked in the past and only upgrade when there is an issue prompting it, otherwise you may cause more issues than you fix. Unless some other game requires the new driver roll back and stay with what worked.
