I am under the impression that creating a Ranger/Mage character in Baldur's Gate is impossible - even with Shadowkeeper. Is that correct? I have always wanted to play that type of character. Is there a character that would at least come close to this using shadowkeeper or any other tool?
Thanks,
Ranger/Mage

What is it that you're looking for in the ranger part? If it's stealth, go with a multiclass thief. If it's fighting ability, use a fighter. If you want divine spells, pick a cleric or druid.
Either of these will be much more capable in its field than the ranger, but won't have abilities in the other fields.

Ranger/Cleric is awesome. A fighter with all the priest spells available. Just awesome

No it's not. Ranger/Mage is an impossible combination.Son of Imoen wrote...
Ranger dualed to Mage is possible if you use the 'expanded dual class'-options from the bg2 tweak pack.
The "expanded dual-class" component can enable dual-classing of barbarians (technically a fighter kit) and wild mages (mage kit) because fighters and mages can dual-class but it was disallowed for those two kits.

You're right. My memory doesn't serve me well, I should've checked the readme before posting: Barbarians and Wild Mages can dual-class with this tweak. I'm not really familiar with this one, I always skip it when tweaking with the tweak-pack, as I want to stay true to the 2nd Edition rules (or am I also wrong on this one?).
