So, I'm pretty sure that Holy Smite became different after installing Awakening. I wanted to go into the toolset and compare the scripts and elements that make it up and see, but I can't seem to find anything. If I turn out not to be crazy, I wanted to make a mod to put it back to what it was. If, I'm crazy, well...not much I can do about that. ;) Anyway, I can't find the holy smite animation, or anything that controls it, and while I've sound an effect that looks like it's at least part of it.... Well, I don't have all the pieces. Anybody know about this?

Okay, talent_aoe_instant.nss, talent_constants_h.nss, effecte_h.nss, effevt_constants_h.nss....

Maybe ability_h.nss. Not so sure about that one.

Can't find where the visual effects are set, though, and I can't find the animation/animations that go with it.

Tried to find what you are looking for. The closest anim I found to Holy Smite was m.ua.acast
But I don't think thats the one. (?)
I also noticed a series of talent anims went under the prefixes mh_c.sw_tal_sbash for shield bash for example.
Have a look at the animation editor in theToolset to browse and preview them.
And for the VFX, again, I don't know if this is smite, but there was a VFX called fxc_arch_smite_p (checked it out, black smoke spread (?)

I am not sure how you are previewing these vfx. I used the cutscene editor but that's the only way I know how.

At least if you have the names you could probably look for where they are referenced in the scripts. (once you find the right scripts of course)

Hope this helps :)

I'll have a look at those, thanks! I must still be missing a script, as I still haven't found anything that sets a particular fx or vfx to the action. I'm thinking that fxc_arch_smite_p probably has to do with the archdemon.

Personally, I always check stuff before reaching conclusions .It can say arch, but it might be used for other things. (unless it says somewhere that all anims and effects are dedicated..but I highly doubt it)

Good luck!

I hear you there. The fact that it's so difficult to find these things makes me think that Holy Smite is probably a combination of effects and animations that are probably named in obscure ways. Sigh.

What I probably need is a program that compares file sizes for extracted erfs....

Okay, I've been examining the effect, and I don't think it's actually different, I think it's faster. So I don't think I need to find the files themselves, I think I need to fine where the speed of it is set.
