I just picked up this game a couple weeks ago. I seem to be stuck in the Dragonfly hanger in the chapter 2. I fought the demons, and then two guards kicked open the door, and an ogre and friends came in behind me. I killed the ogre and some guys, but the two guys at the door are not hostile, not talking, and not moving. I can't get past. I went and killed an elephan demon in a treasure room, but nothing there got the guards moving. I've tried re-loading a couple of old saves, and replaying a sizeable part of this level, but the guards are always there. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

It is a well-known bug for the PC version. Try lowering your resolution.

Is there anything else I can try? I played the encounter a half dozen times this morning, eventually dropping the resolution all the way down to 640x480 and turning off all graphical effects, and the two guys blocking my way forward have never once moved.

Here's a hack I wrote a few months ago:

The above hack will work all by itself, but it's also built into my mod.

i am too having this problem i have the game on wid 10 and from origin just got the game free on the house from ea games and i have try old saves and even uninstall the games and reinstalled it nothing happen and those fixes for it don't work with a origin games please help

I encountered this as well.  What I ended up doing was moving to the area where those two guards stall and slow played the combat.  I think what happens is that you can beat the encounter too quickly - before the guards get into the room.  This causes them to revert to passive NPC's blocking access to the upper level.
