Dear BioWare...

I realise they may pay a huge incentive otherwise for the exclusive, but surely one 'exclusive' mentioned first on the 'BioWare SocialNetwork' would be absolutely awesome too right?

... and on a side note, don't they earn something for being on magazines? Or is that EA?

Do you honestly think they'll give first hand news to the forums while they know they can get paid to hand it over to a magazine?

Okay.
Guys.
We're the official forums.
We're not a news outlet.
This is simple. Don't make a big deal out of it.

Why can't they break the news to a website? That way everyone could get the news, instead of just people who live in the same country where a certain magazine is made.
Yeah, and then magazines and all of those in their employ would go out of business, just so we could read the actual article instead of people just giving us the details!
Not only that, but I'm sure BioWare gets better deals from front page stories than with website articles.

Or why not international magazines then?
You know a lot of international gaming magazines, then? I can only think of Game Informer and Game Pro when it comes to multi-platform, and both of those are based in America. Not sure if they get coverage elsewhere.

I think lots of people who regularly read gaming magazines get used to certain reviewers and trusting/interpreting/understanding what they write. There is definitely a place for "reveals" in print media, especially if you can read the details from the point of view of a familiar writer. Then its so much more than just facts. It's opinion, speculation, excitement, disappointment etc.
Also, it's a pet peeve of mine that people assume publishers make money out of having their games previewed/reviewed in print magazines (apart from to create awareness of their product). So far no-one has provided any proof that this happens.

You'd be wrong there.

im fine with them putting info in the magazines, makes more sense for them, and is no real hardship for those who dont or cant buy the magazine since they can find out a couple of days later

Next you'll tell me that they'll try to "sell" you Dragon 2 in exchange for a certain amount of currency.
Hey, I'd be all in favor of them adopting a policy of giving it free to members of this forum.

And you need to understand that, without money, they wouldn't be able to make any games for us to enjoy. Edit: I realize that sounds a bit snarky and I don't mean this in an extremely mean way. But the fact is that they do need money to do their jobs...plus they need to eat.

Im pretty disappointed with Bioware's Staff or moderators that locking ppls threads. I was asking for simple infos and few replys. That wasnt very nice locking up topics like that. That even make me feel less interests of buying any of their products too.

The mods do that to keep the forums organized. Sometimes there're several threads per day about, let's say, dialogue. Why should there be six different threads talking about the same thing? If it's a specific aspect of it I can see it staying open, but often there are unnecessary threads opened. The best place for basic info is the 'What We Know So Far" thread that's stickied at the top of the page.

To add:
And once again, I must reiterate that the forums are not a major news outlet. BioWare wants people who actually play games to read about DA2, not just people that go on the forums. I highly doubt that EGM or Game Pro get less subscribers than the BioWare forums.
