The Maker created the world and the living things upon it, separated
from the Fade by the Veil. His new children would be unable to shape the
world around them and thus they would need to struggle to survive. In
return for their struggle, the Maker gave them the spark of the divine, a
soul, and He watched with pleasure as His creations flourished and
showed all the ingenuity that He had hoped for.

EDIT: The Graffities all over KirkWALL will say, "Who/Where is the Maker?"

Socialist mace has +100% to healing effects, messy kills, and radiates cold.

Socialism: looks good on paper, but fails when implemented! :D

Depends on how you integrate it with a system.

I am Hawke, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the elf in the alienage, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the woman in the Chantry, 'It belongs to the Maker.' 'No!' says the bann in Denerim, 'It belongs to the Landsmeet.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose
the impossible. I chose... Kirkwall, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the mage would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Kirkwall can become your city as well.

So that's why the world is on the brink of war.  Hawke's Kirkwall became filled with creepy mutant creatures

Ha! I wish. I think this will be the basis of my first character, though I can't decide between Ayn Hawke, or Andrew Hawke. Perhaps Galt Hawke.

Galt Hawke sounds like the name for some sort of colorful tropical bird.  Or maybe I'm just weird ^_^  And as for basing a character off Objectivism, I'd say there's no better BioWare game in which to do it.  It certainly sounds like DA2 is shaping up to be much more political. Though I draw the line at Hawke giving a f-ing frillion hour radio speech.  That was facepalm worthy.

And don't forget to shout in a deep mechanical chant, "Big Chantry Brother is watching you!"

And the Socialist Mace turns out to be a Placebo Weapon discussed elsewhere in the Forum..... :P

We get to cut off the Qunari invasion by converting Saheron's architects and skilled craftsmen to capitalism.

I would pay double the average price of a video game for this.
