Was it built by Tevinter or Avvars?

Errr.. The circle tower was built by the Avvar? The highway connects to it...

According to the Codex, the Tower was built by Tevinters, due to the mystical nature of Lake Calenhad.

I always figured Tevinters since it connects (or use to) to the tower.

Nope the OP is right in this instance which kinda makes me wonder how they couldn't figure out the first question which is much easier since the Avvars only really ever controlled the areas around/near the Frostback mountains and therefore could not be builders of the Imperial Highways. Maintence maybe but builders no.

Dragon Age wikia, learn to love it people it's there for a reason.

Actually travelling the intact parts of the imperial
highway with at least random encounters (combat and merchant(s))
there would be nice change in DA RtP :)

Ask a question of questionable intelligence...

Your scant posting history already show you know of and have used the DA Wiki. Combined with the recent signup date, lack of game registration, unimportant posts/questions and name... a new mostly harmless troll among us?

Mehm well it provided me with a few minute diversion as I'm awake at 3am so no loss.

ooooh! Lady Holmes!

Anyway.

I apologize if it was trolling. I was just curious because I am fascinated by Avvars who seem to me were not simply Barbarians as generally assumed. I just was just playing the Awakening expansion and I came across a statue (a pair) where one of the replies possible was "Are ayou relly Avaarr Barbarians?" The answer was, "Does it matter?"

Just piqued my interest. So no need to get all Hostile and start calling me Moriarty, eh?

strange - other codex entries name the awwar and later the tevinter
takeover by force - wich would also expain the highway connection.
a screenshot of that entry you've mentioned would be great

(still wondering what is DA RTP specific here and not just DA series...)

Imperial Highway was built by the Tevinters to connect their vast territories allowing for faster travel. The Circle tower was built by the Avvars but was captured by the Tevinters during their invasion of Thedas.

Hm, any idea where it is found?  I've been making a listing of Codex entries myself which I haven't found on the wikia (unless it is some wikia I don't know about) and can get a pic or something for you.

The cloudgazers up on the surface talk of the Imperial Highway built by the magisters of old, a raised walkway that crossed thousands of miles, something that could only have been built by magic. Perhaps it is comparable to the Deep Roads, although we dwarves didn't need magic.
