I'm hoping there's a tutorial out there on how to go about changing the color of existing armor or at least on how to create a new tint mask or something of the sort.  If anyone can point me towards one, I'd be grateful.

Thanks.

I'm good on creating a new tint - which is all I wanted to do - up until the point where the tutorial instructs me to name the tint, which creates a tint file.. Unsure where/how to do that, and thus can't go on from there and actually be able to apply it to items. I can save the matproj, but that doesn't seem to do it.

In the toolset's material editor you have to do a Post to Local to export a TNT file, as mentioned in the second link. You also have to set the "For Export" variable to true. As I mentioned in the original post the 3rd link was derived from (but which I apparently omitted from the Wiki version), I think this only works properly when you have the single player module open. My preference, as described in the 3rd link, is to work with TNT files directly using the GFF editor and avoid exporting from the toolset altogether.

AFAIK, you can post to local from the module. Works for me, anyway.

The bugs that force working in Single Player are only in the Level Editor, last I heard.

If you're looking for something a bit simpler you can try out this mod:
