Although I can't say he's a bad composer, most of his music sounds pretty...bland, Like so generic you can't really tell the difference between music in game A and music in game B. Nah, I think Inon Zur should stay :)

Thanks for the reply- it is at least 1 opinion, :-). What do others think?

Personally, I liked the NWN score and Morrowind score a lot, though, that is just me.

Never been impressed by Soule's work. Hmm, let's go big here. Bring in Howard Shore to do the soundtrack, would be epic.

Yes, I could definitely go for that! Worthy of LOTR!

I am talking an academy award for DA2.

Hell yeah- oh, wait. They can't do that, they'd just be copying Lord of the Rings!=]

But  Modern Warfare 2 had Hans Zimmer do the music so I wouldn't mind if BioWare brought in some big name guy. But Inon Zur isn't too bad either- just need some more variety.

I liked the music for DA:O. So, yeah, I'd prefer if they got Inon Zur to do it again.

Otherwise, I'd like to see Brian Tyler (Children of Dune) do the soundtrack. Or Yoko Kanno (Ghost in the Shell: SAC, SAC 2nd Gig, and SAC:SSS). :)

I've got nothing against Soule, but play Oblivion and Fallout 3 at the same time, and you won't be able to tell which is which unless your radio is on.

As long as its not Marylin Manson

Seriously though, Soule rocks for Elder Scrolls, but his other soundtracks are less memorable (still very good atmosphere though). I personally thought the Dragon Age Soundtrack was spotty and occasionally really bad.

I rather try to remember Soule for this one, but oh well. Both Soule and Zur are quite excellent.

Of course if we want Dragon age to ROCK then you gotta call Frank Klepacki ;)

Inon Zur is really fine. Mark Morgan or Jack Wall would also be great, but I think they'll keep Inon Zur.

Fallout 3 was actually Inon Zur.

Yes, I thought that IWD was his best work too. The rest of his stuff I've heard is good, but all pretty interchangeable.

...and selections from Children of Dune (Brian Tyler):

I just listened to the soundtrack of DA:O...and I'd be happy if they kept Inon Zur. :)

I actually played games for his music, Prey for example. Amazing.

I stopped playing whenever the Morrowind main theme was in the background a lot of times.

If Inon Zur doesn´t repeat I´d like Bear McCreary (Galactica, Chronicles Sarah Connor), he has also composed for games.

Yeah, no problem here. I also just listened to some select pieces from DAO. Quite enjoyable.

Jeremy Soule is a amazing composer. Loved Oblivion and KOTOR's soundtracks! I think Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard will make a good team to compose DA2's dark-fantasy nature.

The poundy drums he uses would even fit with big battle scenes. Although his style tends to be so distinctive that it may actually be distracting, I dunno. At any rate, I would be totally happy to keep Inon Zur onboard. He's done some really good stuff for the series so far.
