Which reminds me has anyone seen the Templar armor on a female city elf? Is it just me or is it backwards? D: (Not sure if the same thing happens with other classes or races)

tmp's proportions fixes are definitely up-there in the list of 'seriously-must-have mods'. As is the unisex armour. I can barely stand to wear leather armour on female characters in the vanilla game.

Oh you have noticed. You are welcome I was just browsing through the comms there and was frowning more and more as I found everything BUT a Mahariel one. So it was long overdue, anyway. I just haven't looked through all the stories and therefore I'm sure there are more worthy to add. Alas I'm too wrapped up into my own FF at the moment to read longer one to add them then.  And I'm -- of course -- more one of the Alistair/Mahariel fangirls, so I'm not too knowledgable about the Zev/Mahariel ones.

So anyone knows good Zev/Mahariel stories worthy to read/add into this comm?

I haven't looked at the FF communities much, I'll have to check it out.  Unfortunately the filter at work blocks it and that is a lot of my spare browsing time.  Hurrah for boring desk jobs. 

The Mahariel interest definitely is lacking compared to say the Couslands, but I guess we plug away.

This is the first just origin one I've seen. Sure Cousland and Aeudcan have one but that's only for the Alistair pairing and a Surana/Amell one but only if Cullen's romance is involved. I like how this is much broader than the others.

As for Zev/Mahariel...I haven't seen many but there was Mercy's Broken Sword. It was Zev/Mahariel though it takes place after the Landsmeet and she's horrified that she let Alistair be executed and tries to convince herself that she couldn't care for a shem anyway when she chose to spare Loghain to try and prove that she could be merciful. It was very evocative.

elf love finally!!! I support city elf totally adore shianni, and Soris... add that face that they're the PC's cousins make them even more awesome!

Plus, like earlier posts...you actually have a normal intact family... I'd say rivialing the Couslands... the only origin where someone isnt out to betray/backstab/kill you sorta thing.....

Storming the Castle with Soris in tow and seeing Shianni, strong willed Shianni....so....broken......my CE pulls out her sword and guts Vaugn w/o mercy every single time....

Currently in love with Alistair as well

haven't finished the run yet, but in my happy world Kaiat and Alistair live in Denerim doing their Grey Wardening together with the time they have left

I go with 'I call you cousin because you're not my brother/sister but we've been raised together' type relatioinship myself. A Shianni romance would be scooped up almost a quick as a Teagan one.

Shianni is one of my favourite characters, and that representation of her is epic. That said, it seems a bit too 'waiting for someone to return' than I think Shianni would be, but maybe that's just my impression. She seems more like a character who'd go and take something/someone she wanted. I guess its one of her more pensive moments .

That's something I noticed in the game, I cant leave Shianni at all. I just lose it around Vaughan, he never leaves there alive. Selling your cousin like that is so evil, I just cant pick that option, and I have done everything else "evil" in the game.

Am I alone in this, or is leaving Shianni the most dispicable thing in the entire game?

I would say it is, I mean you're leaving her there to be raped repeatedly for hours and you get some gold you can't use until about the time it doesn't matter anymore. It makes butchering a clan of Dalish to every man woman and child look alright in comparison.

Even without metagaming about when you get paid, I can't see just leaving Shianni there for any amount of gold. Not only that, but you really have no reason to trust anything Vaughn would say at that point.

Definitely.

Every other "evilish" decision can be somehow justified; tainting the ashes to avoid fighting with the cultists, leaving Redcliffe because it's not your fight (it really isn't), killing Connor because abominations are simply too dangerous to let live, killing the Dalish for the sake of a stronger army against the Darkspawn or because you feel the werewolves have been getting the short stick and it's time they get their revenge, etc., etc., etc.

But leaving Shianni to be raped by Vaughn and his men? Unless you believe his "the alienage will burn" crap, the only reason you'd leave her there is for pure greed. Considering she's your cousin and that, assuming you're playing a female, you could've easily been the one being raped, I'd say it's the most despicable action one can do in the game.

Seriously, I can't even begin to imagine the horror Shianni feels when she sees her cousin just walk away and leave her to be treated like a piece of meat.

Hehe, thanks. I'm not sure there is anything to do at all with it. It's just a list of FF's worthy to read to a certain topic. I think this is why they are existing. For discussions I'd have to create a forum, but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort.

Thanks will add/read it later. Yeah, writing DA is addicting indeed. Actually my behemoth of a fanfiction was originally planned as a short drabble series. Umm...yeah, right

When you think for a second about what Vaughn says about the Alienage burning it's total BS, you just slaughtered the entire compliment guard of the Arl of Denerim. You're a murderer and they'll never let you just go, the families of the Guardsmen you killed will demand justice and once they find out it was Elves they'll burn the Alienage regardless because the Elves are helpless to stop them. You're life in the Alienage is over the moment you kill the first Guard it's just a matter of seeing it through in killing the Arl's son and his friends.

It's the most emotionally loaded, but i'd have to say the absolute worst you can do is probably leaving the arcane warrior trapped in the crystal. Simply because for all you know you're condemning that soul for eternity of pain and madness rather than brief period that's human (elf) life, and you gain absolutely nothing by doing that.

Leaving Shianni would be very much the second worst and right behind it, though.

Vaughn is clearly grasping at straws when he claims the Alienage will burn. He knows he's in over his head and he makes one pathetic attempt to save himself.

Turning back after murdering a whole fleet of guardsman is indeed pretty pathetic and only an incredibly gullible Warden would fall for that.

Yet I've seen some people justify their decision to leave Shianni alone due to Vaughn's threat.

That is indeed another horrible thing to do. I'm not sure if I'd rank it above Shianni but it's definitely another one of those choices that only a complete jerk of a Warden would do.
