So if you use the Dalish mage mod, Gregoir will berate you about the Jowan incident?

That's batsh*t crazy indeed!

Yes, and the mages all say "I remember you".  But the Tower is a delusional place on a good day, let alone in Broken Circle.  It just made it easier for Idun to side with the templars, not that she liked them either.  I hadn't annulled the Circle before so wanted to see something different and it seemed appropriate.  I hated the epilogue though.  Posted Image

I take it's a sad epilogue... damn! I guess I'll find out at the end of my current game as I also annuled the Circle for the firs time.

And that's a nice RP spin you gave to a potential immersion breaking situation!

I saved the tower just recently as a blood mage and no one cared. I dont know if thats sad, ironic, or poetic really.

If I replay Idun's game, I'll probably keep Wynne (ugh) and save the Circle so I can see the blood mage confrontation trigger.

I know, that's the price to pay for the awesome blood mage confrontation.

Irving's "STFU WYNNE!" makes it worth it though! :wizard:

I don't recall exactly what the card said, but it struck me as very dark.  Plus the templar army is annoying.  I called them in at the alienage thinking they could help with that powerful mage general, but their constant Cleanse Areas kept knocking out my PC's and Morrigan's attack spells and hexes, too.  Posted Image

Irving is one of my favourite NPCs in the game. That dude is just plain awsome.
I wish we could have had him instead of Wynne, since he at least sounds wise.

Don't you need a mod to fix the blood mage dialogue with Wynne?

Its an optional fix in the Dialouge Tweaks I think.

GMAM and I will look for it.

Here is the mod from the nexus, also you should get the full dialouge tweaks as well.

Just be careful if you're exposed as a blood mage. The game will assume that no army was recruited and you won't be able to make it to the Landsmeet. The DT mod does include a fix for this in case you're stuck.

Eh.  He's sort of like the government official in a communist system who tries to help people when he can, but mostly rats them out in order to get along.  You have to respect him, sort of, and both he and Greagoir could certainly be worse (*cough* Cullen *cough*) but I can't say I like him.  His STFU to Wynne is one of his better moments, though.

While he can come off a little cold, I think he does try and look out for mages as best he can.
Gregior as well can come off wrong to many people. I think he has a hard job, but does what he can.

That's why I usually free the circle as a mage.

I agree with Giggles. I can imagine it must be difficult to try to stand up for all the mages of the Circle when you're against the Chantry. I believe he does what he can to make life at least comfortable for them.

He does stand up for in the origin.

Sadly he has to think of many mages, and does what is best for the group. Not the individual.

Irving left me with a bad taste in my mouth concerning his attitude to Lily in the Origins.

I felt really bad for Lily in the Mage Origin.

Irving left me doubting his competence entirely.  My elf-mage didn't free the mages from the Chantry at all because of him.

Dagna, too (although his treatment of Lily is indubitably worse).  "She does know dwarves can't do magic, doesn't she?"  No, Irving, that totally escaped her attention!  I'll go tell her right away!  <_<

I didn't have a problem with Irving in regards to Dagna or Lily. For Dagna, it simply didn't occur to him until you spell it out that she actually wants to go live in the Circle Tower...just to study and watch everyone else do magic. It's not like every other single person who comments on it doesn't also think it's weird. As for Lily, Irvings not forcing her to break her vows and he's not the one sending her to Aenoar. Yes, he lets the information slip about Jowan but all he wants is for mages and Chantry personnel to be held to the same standard and that if he's going to be punished for what they both do then she should be as well. I see Lily as a bit of a victim of Jowan's because, while she made her own decisions she would not have risked what she did had she known the truth about his blood magic.

Pointing out a basic fact of someone's biology and suggesting that they are somehow unaware of it seems really condescending to me. "Run a race? You *do* know you're an amputee, don't you?" If he'd said something like, "But dwarves cannot do magic. What does she hope to gain by coming?" I wouldn't have a problem. Instead, he suggests she's utterly ignorant. Nice, Irv. That's class.

I can excuse stupid comments, though.  For one thing, all the senior enchanters are dotty.  I'm sure it's lyrium effects- which sort of brings up interesting questions about maleficarum.  Supposedly they're teh ebul and easily corrupted, but compare Flemeth to any of the Circle seniority and she seems much more possessed of her wits.  Oh, maybe possessed was a bad pun there.  LOL

Anyway, to bring it back o/t, elf mages are the bestest mages of all!  Just ask King Maric.  Posted Image

Have I posted this here yet?  Oh well, here is Maric-Fiona hubbahubba, from MilliaTimmain.

On topic - I'm running a Dalish mage for the first time. I didn't want to before due to the dialogue problems but I found a mod that fixes some of them. I love being an apostate. Mentally blowing raspberries at Wynne is fun ;-)

Idun annulled the Circle, starting with Wynne.  But it didn't give me much satisfaction because I think it wracked her a lot and probably would stay with her the rest of her life.

P.S. What mod fixes the dialogue problems?  I didn't mind them, to be honest.  It lent a certain paranoiac air to Broken Circle that everyone kept acting like they recognized Idun.  She already thought they were all batsh*t crazy anyway.  LOL

I've had the Dalish mage origin mod for ages but I couldn't play it because the dialogue errors mad me nuts.

I saw this on Nexus by chance :

Non circle mage dialogue fix

I haven't got very far into Caethes' playthrough to see how it goes and what it might clash with.  Only Ostagar so far - the only mage related option that seemed to be left was after the joining when you compare it to the harrowing.

Otherwise both Wynne and the Templars there treated her as a Dalish.

Shame there's no "OMG its an apostate kill it!" mod - I have to rp that in my head ;)

That Fiona pic is lovely. Is that the one David Gaider said looked just how he pictured her?
