Umm, wasn't the only background DLC for Leliana to begin with?

I am sure no matter which character is it, Bioware could make a great and interesting background story for all of them, even Dog and Alistair

Nathaniel would be good at some point. I reckon there's a reasonable chance he'll join Hawke for a while in DA2 - early in the game, possibly pre Awakenings events, (he says in floaty text that he spent a year in Kirkwall), so I'd like to join up his story. I'd like to see what happens to him in between leaving the Free Marches and getting arrested. Sneaking around, trying to burgle Vigil's Keep would also be fun.x

Morrigan? How about Wynne? 50+ years worth of backstory right there. And SHALE! That would be awesome! To see Shale-Dwarf running around, all dwarf-like.

I think a Shale story would be good, also. Either the events that led up to her becoming a statue, or post-Origins - Shale and Wynne going off somewhere trying to get Shale turned back into a dwarf.

never would, but in my experience the morrigan fangirls arent as annoying as the morrigan fanboys, as the alistair fanboys arent nearly as annoying as the girls, something thats propably because there are not that alistair fanboys or morrigan fangirls. no offense against fanboy/girls in intended, but everytime i remember the day DA2 was announced and soooo many were screaming they wanted morrigan/alistair back, even if those were rather boring characters (imo).
to topic: i cannot imagine any backgroundstory would be as boring as alistairs, for he hasn't an interesting past (running around in a chantry.... boring) and also a boring future (king/drunk/dead). the propably most interestings would be zevrans and maybe oghrens, because those two had a rather vivid past...

Yeah, some of Sigrun's adventures with the Legion of the Dead would be wicked, I really like the whole idea of the Legion.

Well, I'm sure the writing team could make both those things interesting, but if it were Alistair I would be more interested in the 6 month time period when he was a Warden before meeting the PC. You could do a lot with that.

Oh, I'm sad. I'm one of three here that I've found rooting for Nate.

He would be a good character to do a DLC on, seeing as he'd allow us a preview of Free Marches and Kirkwall (as he said he was there... I don't remember how the heck I got it out of him, so don't ask!)
It might also allow us to answer the question of "WTF were you doing in the Free Marches while the rest of the Howes your father was at home plotting the demise of the Couslands?!" And I, too, would enjoy see him first sneaking into the Vigil to kill the commander and then see him change his mind and decide to steal back his family's things.

Also rooting for Nathaniel to at least to appear as a cameo in DA2. Would love it to see him as a temp. party member in DA2 as he, Anders, and Oghren were the only ones I was not about to throttle at the end of Awakening (Sigrun was also there, but then she got depressed and ran away back to the Deep Roads which really ticked me off. Velanna is just a blonde, dalish Morrigan on depressants. Justice... I did a happy dance when I learned he died during the epilogue. Too reminiscent of a character from NWN2. I would have shot across the room and destroyed the TV should he have said something about a well... And don't make me mention Mhairi!)

I'd rather see the story move forward than to see more backstory. But if I had to choose a backstory, I'd like to play a DLC that takes place during the Orlesian occupation featuring characters from the Stolen Throne.
