I do not like walking around as a Bavarian Fruit Cake.

Not just mages headgear, all helmets in the game pretty much looked like garbage all Armour for that matter, only one i really liked was the Legion of the dead Armour and helmet.
i can see that wanting cool looking armour is one thing but it frst must look functional so if i saw that suit of armour in real life i can actually imagine a medieval knight wearing it with out it looking overly elaborate

True and non of the armour in DA:O looked funtional, way to elaberote and over the top, i would preffer just a simple chainmail, leather and tunic ala viking type ensamble:P of course Medievel knights plate armour in life never looked very funtional either, very cumbersome and unwieldly.

At least Hawkes default armour looks cool and maybe not very protective but at least it looks like he could move in it, and hey when your a super skilled bad ass who needs armour all over anyway ?
i dont know im hoping that the hawke we've seen is just his default appearance and we stilll have the armour system of origins, but if they switch it to the armour system of mass effect 2 ohhh boy i never thought id say this about bioware, but ill write bioware off as a lost cause.
anyway the default armour for hawke is a little to JRPG logic for my tastes (lots of aestetic gear that would provide no protection in combat)

Top hats and monocoles?
I'd love that in a steampunk setting, but not in Thedas necessarily. Not sure it would fit. Oh well.
