If they had a cool broad brimmed hat, like Odin would wear or something, I'd wear it with a very specific character, heh.

Indeed, especially the female one, like the stone amplifies the power of the mind, or something.

Even this would be better than the Libertarian's Cowl.Bobad wrote...
However I vote for this for a Chaotic Mage
Seriously, DA was great, but Bioware messed up BIGTIME with the mage hats.

Ya know, hats that actually look like they were designed to be useful rather than those confining face hugging things, that look like their only purpose for existing(aside from looking silly), is to hide your characters face.

I would be just happy to have a "toggle helm off" button.

Mage costumes is one thing nwn 2 did better

I feel the exact opposite. While I think Bioware can make some improvements, I thought the robes in NWN2 were horrible and miles and miles behind DA:O's robes. The basic robes may be a bit unimaginative, and they still look better than NWN2's. At least in my opinion.

I think there's one thing us fans can agree on is that the mage headgear in Dragon Age Origins wasn't pretty. I really hope they do something about it in the sequal.

I hated the arsey hats in DA:O, but does anyone have any examples of something that would look good.
I have to wholeheartedly agree with Cancermeat. There was only one magelike cowl which I enjoyed ...

It didn't look pointy and stupid. And it matched my robes. I hope for more cowl like hoods, but hoping also that DA2 allows for cloth animations (moving and swaying sort of stuff) not stiff.

Yep. Like in Mass Effect if you weren't using DLC armor. Or the no helmets mods for the Infinity Engine games. Or just make helms in general less fugly--I literally couldn't wear them for any of my party members because they were so ugly. And I'm not too picky when it comes to appearances.
